DEWALT Chainsaw Review: Powerful, Reliable, and Surprisingly Lightweight
I’ve been using the DEWALT chainsaw for a few months now, and it’s exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you're trimming branches or cutting down small trees, this tool delivers serious power with the reliability you'd expect from DEWALT.One of the best features is how easy it is to use, even for someone who isn’t a professional. It starts up quickly, and the controls are intuitive and well-placed. The chainsaw is also much lighter than I expected, which makes it easy to handle and reduces fatigue during longer jobs.I’m especially impressed with the battery performance (on the cordless model). It holds a charge well and provides enough runtime to get through most jobs without needing to stop and recharge. Maintenance is minimal—chain tensioning is tool-free and straightforward, and the bar oil reservoir is easy to fill. The build quality is solid, and it feels durable and well-balanced in hand. Whether you're a homeowner handling yard work or someone who needs a dependable tool for more frequent use, the DEWALT chainsaw is a great investment.

Great saw
I love this saw. I was hesitant to buy a battery saw like this but I needed one for my barn project where I had no power. I had read where some said the blade was crap. Well, I have cut many 2x6's with the blade that came with it and it is still cutting like a champ. Very handy when you are up on a ladder or in a bucket. I should have got one a long time ago.

but highly recommended for DeWalt battery users!
The DEWALT DCS391B is a powerful and reliable 20V MAX circular saw. The 6-1/2-inch blade cuts smoothly through wood, and the 460 MWO motor delivers excellent performance. The 0-50° bevel adjustment is precise, making angled cuts easy. Lightweight yet durable, it's perfect for DIYers and pros. Bare tool only, but highly recommended for DeWalt battery users!

DeWalt DCS391B 20V MAX Circular Saw (Bare Tool) Review: A Solid, Reliable Cordless Option
The DeWalt DCS391B is a popular choice for contractors and DIY enthusiasts looking for a cordless circular saw that balances power, portability, and affordability. This "bare tool" version means it doesn't include a battery or charger, making it a great option for those already invested in the DeWalt 20V MAX battery system. Here's a breakdown:Pros:Good Power for Cordless: While it won't replace a corded saw for heavy-duty ripping all day long, the DCS391B offers impressive cutting power for most common tasks. It can handle 2x4s, plywood, and even thicker lumber with relative ease.Lightweight and Maneuverable: Compared to corded circular saws, and even some other cordless models, the DCS391B is relatively lightweight and easy to handle. This makes it less fatiguing to use for extended periods and more convenient for working in tight spaces or overhead.Durable Construction: DeWalt is known for its robust tools, and the DCS391B is no exception. It feels solid and well-built, suggesting it can withstand the rigors of job site use.Bevel Capacity: The saw can bevel up to 50 degrees, providing versatility for a variety of cuts. The bevel adjustment is relatively straightforward and secure.Blade Brake: A blade brake is a valuable safety feature that quickly stops the blade rotation after the trigger is released. This helps prevent accidental cuts and makes the saw safer to use.Compatibility with 20V MAX Platform: A major advantage of this tool is its compatibility with DeWalt's extensive 20V MAX battery system. If you already own DeWalt 20V MAX batteries and chargers, this is a cost-effective way to add a circular saw to your arsenal.Easy Blade Changes: The spindle lock makes blade changes quick and easy, minimizing downtime.Cons:Battery and Charger Not Included: As a "bare tool," the DCS391B doesn't come with a battery or charger. This is only a con if you don't already own DeWalt 20V MAX batteries. If you need to purchase these separately, it significantly increases the overall cost.Runtime Depends on Battery Size: The runtime you get will depend heavily on the amp-hour (Ah) rating of the battery you use. A smaller battery (e.g., 2.0Ah) will provide less runtime than a larger battery (e.g., 5.0Ah or higher). For demanding tasks, you'll want to invest in larger batteries. Not Ideal for Thick, Dense Materials: While it can handle most common lumber, the DCS391B might struggle with very thick, dense hardwood or treated lumber, especially for extended cuts. A corded saw is generally better suited for these applications. No LED Work Light: The lack of an integrated LED work light is a minor drawback, as it can make it more difficult to see the cut line in dimly lit areas.Dust Collection: Dust collection is minimal. Consider using a dust mask and eye protection.Who is it For?The DeWalt DCS391B is a great choice for:DIYers: Homeowners who need a reliable circular saw for occasional projects around the house.Contractors: Professionals who need a lightweight, portable circular saw for punch-list items, trim work, and general tasks.Existing DeWalt 20V MAX Users: Anyone who already owns DeWalt 20V MAX batteries and chargers and wants to expand their cordless tool collection.Overall:The DeWalt DCS391B is a solid, reliable cordless circular saw that offers a good balance of power, portability, and durability. While it has some limitations compared to corded models, its cordless convenience and compatibility with the DeWalt 20V MAX platform make it a worthwhile investment for many users. Just be sure to factor in the cost of a battery and charger if you don't already own them.

Dewalt cordless saw
Great cordless saw at a great price. We have a farm and it is so handy to be able to use a tool without hunting an extension cord.

Got it on sale for a steal! Great saw!
Great circular saw and I snagged it on a great sale (almost 30% off!). All of my battery operated tools are exclusively Dewalt (with one exception) so I love the flexibility of one battery system for all of them.Just received so have not had a chance to put it fully through the paces, but I expect nothing but good things.
