Chris and Marissa 🌶️
Some choices in life might seem clearly wrong or socially unacceptable, but life isn’t just black and white. Sometimes, the context really matters, and how you handle those tough situations can turn complicated moments into something surprising and special. This book shows that life can be messy, but that messiness can lead to a much-needed fresh start you didn’t know you needed, often resulting in some of the best experiences of your life. I really enjoy this book for capturing that complexity with a fun mix of spice and romance. I’d give it a perfect score—10 out of 10!

This is my favorite QB Tyler book!
When Chris and Marissa meet at a friend's wedding, they're instantly attracted to each other. After a very hot night together, Chris leaves before Marissa wakes up. Three months later, Marissa is one of a group of new employees in her first post-college job. When she's in orientation, she's shocked to learn the CFO is her one-night stand from the wedding! There's still that strong attraction between Chris and Marissa, but Marissa didn't know that Chris was married. No spoilers, but his marriage is a complex situation. He wants Marissa, and will do whatever it takes to keep her. He's determined to win her heart. Marissa isn't crazy about Chris being married, but she feels the strong pull they have to one another. This was a complicated, multi-layeted story. There's a bit more angst than I care for, but I still enjoyed the story. The heat between Chris and Marissa is explosive! Their HEA was not a simple journey, but well worth it.Monique Ryerson was a new to me narrator, and she was really good. Connor Crais is one of my favorite narrators, and he was absolutely perfect. This is easily my favorite QB Tyler book, and I'll definitely be listening to this again.

Q.B. must stand for Queen Bee of taboo romance!!
Q.B. Tyler is amazing at writing taboo romance the RIGHT way! I love that she writes it in a way that is real, honest, and imperfectly perfect. I love taboo/forbidden romance, as long as it's done right, and Q.B. does it right! I like that she pushes boundries, while not making it feel trashy or like some cheesy p0rn0. I know a LOT of readers refuse to read a romance with any cheating, and that is totally fine. However, I'd like to consider myself open-minded and understanding enough that I realize life is not always black and white, good and bad, and so on. Life is messy. It's complicated, layered, and REALLY FLIPPIN HARD. We are human, and WE ALL make choices, decisions, and yes... even mistakes every single day. I try not to judge others, at least not quickly and not on the smaller things, because I don't know "their story." I've not walked in their shoes, so I don't know what I'd do, and mostly because it's NOT MY PLACE.More importantly, IT'S NOT REAL!! It is a book, a story, a work of FICTION, just like a TV show or movie. There are REAL, actual problems in the world that we can and should be doing something about, or at the very least, taking a stand on. Issues like domestic abuse, rape, starvation, inequality, homelessness, racism, murder, trafficking, injustice, and so much more. So, when I see posts about a book where people are spewing venom...over a FICTIONAL story because a character cheats, it just seems so nonsensical and ridiculous to me. Most of us reading these books live in an amazing country with so much more than so many others... like the freedom to read whatever the HE(( we want. So, just be thankful for that right and use it. Move along to a different book and please for the love of books... kindly keep the condescending opinions and judgment to yourself.Ok...WOW 🤪 I don't really know where that rant came from, but obviously, I needed to use this review as a therapeutic outlet or something lol. Thanks again Q.B. Tyler for a great read and now also improving my mental health 😘

I wish I had liked it more
I was eagerly anticipating for the release of this book. The premise seemed interesting: One that could top the Forbidden by Jodi Ellen Malpas (which was one of my favs from this trope). But when I finished the book, I couldnt help but felt let down.I largely blamed it on the MMC. The fact that he was a serial cheater before he met Marissa took away many points for me & tainted my view of him henceforth. I wouldve loved to see a mental struggle, somewhere prior to their first night (or even knowing that he was willing to cheat for her), just to highlight how special she was to him.Or even some angst over the situation (ie angry sex) may even save the book besides her repeating that she is the mistress. Just to mix it up.Hence I read the connection between them, the lengths he went for her to make him worthy of her, the spicy scenes. But I dont feel it.

PANTY MELTING AGE GAP GOODNESS!
I really liked this! As a sucker for taboo romances, I was initially worried after being disappointed by Wes's book, but this one absolutely blew me away! Chris and Marissa’s chemistry is off the charts. There’s a significant age gap, but Marissa's maturity makes it easy to forget about it.The side characters are fantastic, too! I was seriously hoping Marissa's mom would slap Holly—because let’s be honest, she deserved it—but we don’t always get what we want, do we?And the smut? It’s enough to melt your draws off! Chris is a eater 🤤 Overall, I’d rate this a solid 4/5 stars.

Insane, Addicting, Messy, Delicious
Our Little Secret (A Secrets Novel #3) – Q B TylerTropes: Age-Gap, Boss, Millionaire, Cheating, Second-Chance, DaddySynopsisThree months ago, Marissa had the best night of her life when she met Chris at her best friend’s wedding. He is confident, smooth and gorgeous. They had a connection from the moment they locked eyes. Or so Marissa though, the next morning he was gone before she woke up. Feeling rejected and confused, Marissa puts Chris out of her head, until the first day of her new job where she meets the man responsible for the best night of her life. Her married boss.ReviewI wanted life to stop around me so I could devour this book, not resurfacing until the very last word had been read. It is a delicious, spicy, forbidden masterpiece that tugs at your soul. Christopher Ethan Holt is a filthy talking, delectable man, I do not blame Marissa one bit for falling quickly - I would let him consume me any day too. I laughed, I cried, I fell in love with Chris and Marissa, enjoying every bit of their rollercoaster. The only sore point for me was the third act breakup, I felt that we didn’t get to see them come back from it before we got the epilogue, but I can overlook this as once again Q B Tyler has treated us to an insane, addicting, messy, delicious, taboo story that is a definite favourite of 2024.

In Chris We Trust
One of my most awaited book of the yearQuote : "Once you’ve had the wrong one, you know how different it feels to find the right one.”This book is sexy and complicated. The angst (aka mini heart attacks) I experienced from this book is surreal. There is no mistaking Marissa & Chris instant connection & watching their struggle to reach their happiness was exactly what I need to fill up my angsty-loving heart.

Guy was a serial cheater!
I knew going in this had cheating but since it wasn't between the Main characters and the author is really talented I wanted to give it a go, but the H was a cheater before the h and everything he said about it sounded like it came straight from the cheating husband manual so he lost his appeal to me. Sadly I had to DNF

What a secret!
Wow! Talk about emotional! This story was the definition of complicated. I was wondering how it would defer from the usual stories but I was equally mad at Chris and understanding of his plight.Good story, great characters! I defo recommend!
