A must have for DIY furniture enthusiasts and painters. Renovated old furniture, removed all old polish with ease. Machine was also used to sand the cement from laterite stones. Using Bosch GEX 125-1 AE Heavy Duty Electric Random Orbit Sander made the job simple, else it would have taken long long time and labour to sand. Hrs of usage, no issues. Recommend removing dust collector while sanding cement or stone, better use a mask, else the small dust collector will be full in no time. Dust collector works well with wood, 70% dust reduction I can say, while sanding vertically, all dust will not be collected. Found no drawbacks. Worth the money spent.

This is my first sander and im in love with it.. Soo compact and versatile.. Great product for the money i paid.. The full speed of this is scary.. At full speed the sander spins at high speed which creates lots of heat and can easily burn the work piece and take away wood more than you need, so the speed control comes handy and work efficiently.. The velcro pad is fine and the sheet fit nice and easy to replace.. The 5 inch pad is a bit small.. So you need patience and a bit more pressure to get the best result.. The suction on the bottom of the sander is really nice which sucks most of the wood dust but you need to clean the dust collection more often then you think.. So a regular vaccum connection is a good idea.. Remember its the person who can make the work piece artistic not the machine, it do what it is made for, and it is made for intermediate level and with your skill you can spice it up to pro level.. So i recommend every intermediate wood work to go with this sander, you wont get disappointed..

GEX 125-1 AE is one of the best entry level random orbit sanders you can buy. I bought it in 2012 from a dealer for Rs.4500. With a price less than 4500, it is also one of the cheapest random orbit sander from a reputed manufacturer. It is lightweight (1.5 kg including dust filter and cord), very comfortable to hold, sturdy and fairly powerful. It has survived countless falls from my workbench in the past four years. 125mm Velcro sanding sheets are cheap (Rs20-30) and readily available in the market. It's dust collection system is quite effective. If you are sanding a flat surface it can collect most of the dust produced. But, I normally remove the dust filter cartridge and connect the sander directly to my vacuum cleaner. I mainly use it for sanding wood. I have once tried to polish my car with it. But polishing an entire car using a tiny 125mm polishing sponge is going to be really tiresome. Original Bosch spare parts and accessories for this sander are very expensive. I have changed the sanding pad twice for Rs. 800. Most of the dealers stock a small quantity of these slow moving items and reluctant to give a significant discount on the MRP.

It is a great tool for the amateur hobbyist. I cam currently using it for a table that I am making. Easy to grip and maneuver for a semi-skilled person in spite of the powerful motor. The dust vacuum is OK. It does not suck all the dust but gets a lot in, especially if the filter is clean. It is a true random orbit sander, so it does not leave any visible marks after sanding unlike other power sanders. Beware that many orbital sanders are also mistakenly described as random orbit sanders. I had a hard time getting the sand paper in Delhi, especially grits higher than 120. So I ended up buying them from Home Depot during my US trip where these things tend to cheaper. With the right sand paper you can sand many different kind of materials. I have only used it on wood. It is more expensive than local brands that you will find in your neighborhood hardware store. I never compromise on quality as far as tools are concerned. If money is an issue, buy a cheaper sander but get the best sandpaper.

This small cute tortoise sander from bosch is absolutely outstanding! # It doesn't even take any hiccups even though i operated it for hours! And man, it glides over the wood like butter. # No hindrance while operating as it comes with the dust collector and it is NOT a gimmick! It Really works like a boss! # You wouldn't realise how cleanly it does the job so u've to keep in mind to empty the dust collector after every 30mins continuous operation. #It's a great product from bosch as always! Truly satisfied...👍

Very very bad tool

Product quality is great and it works very well. People in the paint shop have been using it almost everyday for dry sanding the putty and it has reduced their time significantly while giving a good finish.

Product is goos when comes to doing its job. High speed vibration however caused tingling in my palm and fingers for sometime. It is not a good idea to use holed grits with it because even original bosch grit that came with it caused weird marks on the surface due to the punched holes. I received a very dirty piece with damaged packing. The package was not in Amazon box. The bosch box was damaged and the machine was bare inside it without any protection or cover. Did not expect this. The pain point is getting fine grits for this machine. Local shops do not have them and online they are very expensive and not available in right combinations. Not very happy.
