Doesn't work AT ALL
This was a big disappointment and waste of time. My elementary-school-aged son, who has medium brown hair, wanted very dark brown / black hair for his Halloween costume. I followed the directions exactly (apply to damp hair by starting at the ends, rubbing wax in with fingers, and working upward). TOTAL FAIL. Here's why:- His hair color did not change. After half an hour of struggle, his hair was still medium brown. (See photo, post-application. You would never know I put any color in his hair at all.)- The only thing that became black was my hands, patches of my son's scalp, and parts of the bathroom floor as flecks of wax dropped from my fingers.- The wax made his hair stiff and unnatural looking, as though we'd rubbed egg whites in it.- Bathtime that night was a ridiculous mess, with the bathwater becoming coal-black.In short, this is an amazingly ineffective product that will cause you to waste huge amounts of time turning everything in your vicinity black, EXCEPT your hair. I really don't know how the manufacturers managed to engineer something so useless.

Not as dark as shown
I got the black for my daughter to be Wednesday for Halloween and it only made her hair a dark brown and not even close to black. I had to apply so much her hair was crusty even to get to the dark brown .

Decent temporary color!
I got this to use for Halloween, but I had to give it a try on a couple of strands just to see how it works and what the coverage is like. It's easy enough to use, I picked it up with my fingers and rubbed it down the strands, and would pick up more color and continue down the strand as it would cling to the hair. I have some natural white hair as well as gray and it was difficult to get good coverage with the really light pieces and after brushing the strands out that I colored, it kind of blended in to a darker gray. I think when I cover more area for my costume that it will appear overall darker, though. If you are using this all over your head, you may leave residue behind on headrests when riding in a car or if you lean your head on a wall or someone's shoulder. It washed out of my hair and off of my hands really easily, but I am not sure how it would be trying to get it out of fabric.I'm pretty happy with this as a temporary color solution. It's my first time trying out a hair wax chalk, so there may be some user error going on, too! It's definitely better for my purposes than trying to use a temporary shampoo in dye that fades over time, as sometimes they do not fade and I don't want anything that will last that long.Overall I'm happy with this product and may try other colors in the future!

Washed out great, just wrong color
Wasn’t the color I ordered. Needed black and got grey…

Works as expected!
As far as hair products go, I would say that this wax has about the same hold as products with a similar consistency- not quite enough to hold my pompadour in place but it does most of the job! To be fair, that’s just about every product for me since my hair is on the finer side. I end up needing to lock it in with hairspray anyway. Thank God my hair isn’t losing its color yet but I’ve noticed my goatee hair tends towards red even though I’m 100% Chinese. This helps with the hairs on my chinny-chin-chin!

Meh
The picture was black wax, the description said white. I wasn't sure which color was going to show up, but I was fine with either. I did end up with black. The texture wasn't like anything I've used before. My fingers kept gliding off the product at first until I really decided to dig into it. At that point it's pretty easy to work with your hands, but combing helps to disperse it more evenly. It worked nicely to create darker look at the roots that faded into the natural hair color. However, the cream/wax/pomade changes the texture obviously. It made that hair a lot heavier and more difficult to manipulate. This product it probably best to put on top of hair that's already styled when you want a pop of color with some hold.
