It does its job very well. The transfer speeds are almost not altered due to the adapter. It works really well and it is the cheapest option if you only need one off.

What more is there to say - I have USB-C everywhere due to having a MacBook Pro and this allows me to still connect them to my desktop to make thinks easier and not having to have two sets of cables for everything.It works every time and works at USB 3 speeds, and is cheap! Brill.

The description at the top of the page is mostly wrong. The Product Description further down the page (below Product Details) is correct. This cannot be used (without a USB-C male to male cable) for syncing, data transfer or charging a USB-C socketed tablet, phone etc.It does work well to connect a USB-C male peripheral (mostly storage devices) to an older computer with only USB-A sockets. I have used this adapter to connect a USB 3.1 hub and card reader (normally used with a new iMac) to an older iMac and Lenovo laptop with only USB-3.0 (type A) ports. It seems to permit data transfer at USB-3.0 speeds.For a photograph and better description take a look at item B071HLXDVS (from Ybintek) which appears to be the same device.

The New (to me) Dell PC did not have the required port so I needed an adaptor - now doing as expected.

This doesn’t work. I bought two to convert my new iPad c-USB to USB whilst travelling but neither of them actually work. They deliver no charge so I can only assume they do not do the job advertised.I only now discovered that they cannot be returned.A total waste of money. Fraudulent.
