Q: Can I make Prison Wine with this?

Q: Currently waiting for this to be delivered. I would like to order the honey so it's here when the kit arrives. What grade type of honey is needed?

I bought local honey. It was all pure wild honey. avoid pasteurized honey, it may not work as well. That is according to one of the mead books I was reading before I made it. I just bottled it and it tastes fine. The yeast will produce a semi dry, Low carbonated mead. I would recommend wildflower honey, orange blossom, or blueberry honey.

Q: How long does the mead take to ferment before you can drink it?

The mead will ferment for about 4 weeks. After that it will be considered a young mead in taste. You can drink it but the complexity of it will better with age. Giving it a few months to rest may be worth the wait.

Q: Can I make Prison Wine with this?

The equipment could possibly be used but not the recipe.
