Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone : J.K. Rowling: desertcart.in: Books Review: A must read for the potterheads - After completing all the movies years ago, I gave first harry potter book a try, and blimy, it was worth it! Plots were so detailed and different from the movie, I didn’t expect to be so many differences. Looking forward to read other books and waiting for TV series to be more closer to the books. Thank you JK! Review: A Classic on Magic - Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is a classic that holds a special place in the hearts of many readers. While the movie is charming, the book offers a much richer experience with deeper world-building and details that film simply can’t capture. The language may feel a bit challenging at first, but you quickly settle into the flow of the writing. Overall, it’s a wonderfully immersive read, and I would rate it a strong 9/10

This is the kick-off of the Harry Potter the wizard series. Until his early childhood, Harry doesn’t know he is the son of two very famous wizards. His uncle and aunt, where he grew up, have always kept him in the dark about the circumstances his parents died. They dislike everything connected to magic as something unnatural, and therefore also Harry himself. But his life is about to change with the arrival of a particular letter, Harry has never heard of Hogwarts, a school for wizards. He can’t believe it at first, he has never used magic before so why should he go to school to learn how to be a wizard? There is a lot to learn during his first year at Hogwarts, furthermore, he learns more about his parents and how they died. The young boy survived that attack, but why was he spared? Who is this dark wizard who should not be named? There are rumours in the wizarding world that he’s dead or supposedly too weak to reappear. Is Hogwarts really the safest place, will Harry be strong enough to fight Voldemort again, in case he comes back. The young wizard will soon find out when he is confronted with a menace and his worst fears come true. This series is in my opinion not only for children, adults will find it amusing too. It’s a series to come back to again and again. A true masterpiece is full of adventure on a magical level, one you can’t put down.

If you step back and forget the movies, they're a number of clever hidden clues throughout the book. And as you continue through the series a number a one off lines connect to major points. A comforting read I come back to yearly. Though with the movie music in my head the entire time.
