An Excellent Intro to GNM
German New Medicine is an intriguing modality and way of thinking. The author does a wonderful job of explaining it as well as supporting claims with anecdotal cases, personal experience, etc. that provide a very convincing foundation and incentive for more exploration. I’m very interested in learning more. This book is a complete book in itself on the topic. Very happy that I read his. Great job and thank you, Ms. Winston!

Enlightening book on healing our bodies!
German New Medicine, something new to me. It is a is an engaging read for anyone who is interested in holistic health and natural healing methods. The book simplifies the complex concepts of German New Medicine, providing valuable insights into self-healing and the mind-body connection. It is an excellent resource for those looking to manage chronic pain or autoimmune conditions with alternative strategies. What I particularly appreciate about this book is the inclusion of relatable case studies and the author's personal experiences, making it authentic and relatable. The idea that our bodies develop symptoms as a biological response to unresolved emotional conflicts is both enlightening. It offers practical guidance for addressing these emotional triggers to achieve genuine healing. This book helped me learn to look at the cause of disease vs simply treating symptoms.I am so glad I took the time to read this book and I highly recommend it!

The author advices readers to apply GNM to complement other therapies, fostering a more holistic approach to healing and bridging the gap between mind and body. The author also advices some activities and practices you can try out to help your body heal or protect it from future pain or weakness. well referenced but biased
. I got the impression that the author erred like so:. conventional medicine is not good formany things involving the mind and immunitytherefore alt med doctors like Dr. Hamerare a welcome relief and are not to be criticized.. what works about Dr. Hamer's treatmentsis that they fit within naturopathic medicinebut he also has some bizarre beliefsthat one should not promote becausethey are not really the key to his success.. psychotherapy for emotional healingalso healed Dr. Hamer's cancer.. subsequently, he was persecuted by France 2000for advising against cancer chemotherapyand "leading a banned cult".. I assume emotional shock promoteswhatever form of cancer you are already prone to,but the author's take of Dr.Hamer is thatinjury to a woman's child causescancer of the breast specificallybecause the body wants more breast for the child[ebook loc 793].. this struck me as the sort of goofiness thatFreud was known for.. however where I agree with Hamer and Freudis that the subconscious mind can cause diseaseand that healing the mind can heal the body.. I appreciate naturopathic and functional medicineand I am grateful for Dr.Hamer's contributions to them.. his way has worked for the author and many others.here is what google's AI had to say aboutrejected ideas that Freud had:Overemphasis on Sexuality:Pansexualism:Freud believed that sexuality was the driving forcebehind most human behavior,a concept often referred to as "pansexualism."While acknowledging the importance of sexuality, modern psychology recognizesa broader spectrum of motivations.Psychosexual stages:Freud's stages of development(oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital)were based on the assumption thatchildren's primary focus is on sexual gratification. This is now considered overly simplistic and reductionist.Controversial Concepts:Oedipus and Electra complexes:These theories suggested that children harborunconscious desires for the opposite-sex parentand jealousy of the same-sex parent. While the idea of early childhood attachment is still relevant, the specific dynamics proposed by Freudare largely discredited.Dream analysis:Freud's method of interpreting dreamsas disguised expressions of unconscious desireshas been criticized for its subjectivityand lack of reliability.Modern dream research focuses oncognitive and physiological factors.Limitations of Methodology:Case studies:Freud's theories were largely based on case studies of his patients, which are often considered anecdotaland lack the rigor of controlled scientific research.Lack of empirical evidence:Many of Freud's ideas were not subjected toempirical testing,a cornerstone of modern scientific inquiry. It's important to note thatwhile many of Freud's specific theories have been rejected, his overall emphasis on the unconscious mindand the importance of early childhood experienceshas influenced the development of psychology. However, modern psychology hasmoved beyond Freud's ideasto develop more empirically groundedand comprehensive theories.#health #immunity

How to handle ups and downs through life
I enjoyed the book very much, and I learned a great deal from the book. I've had many friends and family have multiple traumas in their life and I didn't have the compassion I should have had for them. I didn't realize what was happening. Also, in my own life I can see why I feel the way I do at times and help myself through it. This is a great read and I intend to read the book again and probably again! Thank you so much to the author for getting this information out!

A great concept for everyone to understand - from colds to cancer
This book is well written and explains the GNM concept well. We are following it for my mom to better understand and help her through an illness. She's been into this concept long before she got sick. Everyone gets sick from time to time, sometimes small, sometimes in a bigger way, this book explains the biological roots of dis-ease and why the body reacts the way it does.
