Sony MDR-AS210AP Open-Ear Active Sports Headphones with Mic (Black)

Just got my hands on this piece a fee minutes back. The packaging arrived a little crushed up and opened and reassembled inside the sealed amazon pack. Sad. The device and it's box seem brand new and original. It's a Dec 2017 made in Thailand piece. Glad it ain't Chinese I say.Coming to the fit. In a few.minutes of wearing it you'll forget it's clinging on your ears. It's that snug and comfy. I'm impressed. It's a firm hold and won't fall off if u r indeed jogging with these. Does take some practise to wear them using just one hand but it's manageable.Coming to the sound quality. I bought these to take my extended calls for work on a laptop. For now I'm connected to a Sony phone and even playing music with these. My first impression is that it surely lacks bass and punch. But then I never bought these for music so I'm not worried much. One phone call to the wife tells me that these head phones are way too shrill. Human voice sounds crackly sharp shrill. Not like it's supposed to. I'm gonna watch these on my calls on the laptop too and see how it sounds to me and the others too. So far I've not got any complaint about the quality of the microphone. That's good.The gold plated plug, the clip on the wire are all the ticks in the right places. I wish the box inserts were stronger. It would have allowed me to retain all that for safe transport for years.No star lost for assembled packagingNo star lost for low bass because voice clarity is beyond parOne star lost for flimsy packaging inserts that don't promote storage and transport.Day 2 review.The clarity for phone calls is beyond awesome. It's also easy to forget you're wearing these.i have big ears and these fit well in the most loose setting.Increasing star rating.

.Sound is Fine , trebles and mids are ok , non existent bass.the soft rubber like plastic that holds behind the ears starts to "rot" over time. ive had mine for a while now and i can see it deforming. the parts where its stuck to the harder earpiece plastic has also broken (ive used thin strings to keep them sewed together) . A bad design choice. or mabye that was the point. I have a tendency for ear infections so i liked this variant that doesnt go in ear. But it'll sometimes stop working in one side. like the sound stops coming from one of the pieces. this is again a design problem , but to fix it , you literally have to "suck" (create suction) the earpiece with your mouth to pull on whatever it is inside that deformed and stopped making sound ( This fixes the problem oddly enough)My verdict - Its not a bad earphone soundwise and gets the job done , but i wont but this exact model again again once mine stops working

Long term usage review:If you have had problems of earphones popping out while doing any activity, then let me tell you this is the ultimate solution at a reasonable price. Not an audio expert, so can't comment on the quality, but the sound is very powerful indeed. And quite soon you would get acustomed to wearing it and then you would in fact forget about having it on.UPDATE: The multi-fuction button on the mic was developing a snag after nearly an year of use, however, thanks to the hassle free warranty claim (1 yr) of Sony, I got a replacement smoothly.

Awsome headphone, worst micI love this one and it must be my 4th one, same model, same grey colour.Pros :1. best sound quality. Awsome.2. Material is not harmful for skin. I do hv allergy with plastic or cheap material. But even after using for long 8hrs also, I never had any issue.3. Other in-ear headphones create vaccume but this one is very comfortable for ear.4. I can use it even while riding 2 wheeler inside the helmet COMFIRTABLY.5. MIC QUALITY is also awesomeU don't hv to keep it very close to your mouth.5. Noice cancellation is too good.Cons :-It doesn't last for long.-Never use it in rain. It's not at all waterproof or splash proof.-Most of the time mic gets some issue.100%be assured that your mic will stop working within a year.-Clip is very small and weak.Warranty :Best part is it comes with one year warranty. So u get free replacement.Keep the bill and box (if possible, not Compulsory).If u submit with/ without box, u will get with / without box.

Its a perfect earphone for day to day usage...Like i have to travel a lot for my classes and work i use it on the go.. Becoz of its athletic look nd production it never falls off my ears and doesn't even pains like other premium brands earphones do...They are waterproof and extremely durable with awsome sound quality..The mic provided is also of pretty decent quality even in very crowded places the person can talk on phone and even can listen to music as they are really very noise reductive...A decent product for daily use in very effective price...

People I recommend please go for this piece of junk... There are a number of reasons that compelled me to write this and I posted it after using it for atleast a month. First of all it is giving me a lot of issues with my Iphone 7 with the lightning connector. The connection breaks several times, the track skips automatically and it is so disruptive that I just feel like throwing it away while working out. Imagine running on a thread mill and the track stops playing again and again and skips. Plus I dont know it opens up Siri as well a lot of times.. The cord length is inadequate for tall people like me and it sucks big time while adjusting it to the ears. It moves forward and backward while running or jogging and takes the fun out of my workouts. They should just not term it as a Sports Headphone. It is just horribly designed. No doubt that Sony is just not doing in the audio segment anymore because of products like this.
