Weld made usefull tool!
This is a well made tool for cutting small limbs and shrubs. I used it on by holly bushes. Using only a hand pruner, I end up with cuts and scrapes and bleeding profusely. With this 4 foot extension, I can reach all the shrub, cut it to a uniform height, and place it in a wheel borrow with out my hands or arms touching the stick ends of the plant. No more bending over or reaching across the top of the shrub either. I cut the time for pruning in half and was not nearly as tired when I finished. The cutter blade is very sharp and can handle up to 1/2 inch limbs. The cutter head will rotate 90 degrees to prevent me from twisting my hand to get to vertical limbs. The cutter blade can be locked shut easily to keep it safe when storing or transporting it. In summary this is the most usable tool I have purchased lately and I am very happy with it's performance.

Price was good, with all its good qualities
Easy to use. Not heavy but sturdy, I can use one hand and, it's long enough to cut the branch. The fact that it has that red on one side of the blade, I can see what I'm cutting. The handle is not plastic.

Great tool for high bushes
I am very happy with this purchase. The design makes trimming the top of a bush a breeze. The cut branch is grasped firmly enough to put the trimming directly where I want it. The blade is actuated by a solid rod that is side a hollow shaft so there is no flexing and can be used with one hand. All the parts look well made, the blade is sharp, and the handle has a positive blade lock.

works well, but no instructions on how to open the handle grip to make it work
pruner works well and is easy to use. I would have given 5 stars but the item comes without any instructions as to how to release the handle grip. Luckily I had an allen wrench that would fit to release the grip. Poor packaging from vendor.

great well built pruners!
Just fantastic! I rarely write a review this quick but this pruner works beautifully! I Have a small ornamental tree that tops out at about8-10 feet and I normally to to prune with lopping shears of hedge clippers. This tool allows me to selectively prune the branches with no problem and instead of the tree looking all chopped up from hedge clippers or odd shape because I couldn't reach high enough with the loppers, let me trim the tree properly by thinning it out and keeping a natural tree look. I can't say enough great things about this pruner. Having said all of that, definitely don't try to cut any branch bigger than a half of an inch. you will ruin the pruner as the directions state clearly. I tried to get about a 3/4" branch and the head started twisting so I stopped and put my lopping shears on it. Make sure that if your doing comparisons with other pruners that they definitely com with METAL hand level! If these were plastic (with they are not, they're metal) I fell that I would have easily broken them. I highly recommend these for smaller tree and shrub trimming, just wonderful!

After first use it looks to be helpful and generally of good quality
After a few days of use I am quite pleased with the time and effort this pruner saves me in trimming the small branches of a shade tree, and glad that I had ordered a slightly more expensive brand that does not use plastic for the handle and lever. Of course the most important quality of durability, especially of the cutting blade, after years of use I won't know for some time. One minor problem concerns the latching mechanism that locks the blade closed for safety. It became loose such that annoyingly I had to keep unlocking it while trimming. I later discovered that it uses a detent mechanism to prevent that. I don't know if it was shipped already slightly loose, or worked its way loose after hours of work. It uses a friction washer, adjustable with a metric allen wrench which I happened to have: too tight and it can't be locked or unlocked; too loose and the problem I described.

Good Product
Update: I bumped this one up to 3 stars... primarily due to their customer service. They have been very responsive and are willing to stand behind their product. Pros: the blade is super sharp and cuts cleanly. The length is nice as well. The handle is comfortable. Cons: Probably need to add some lubricant to get it to swivel better. The gripper has a tendency to stop grabbing (changing size of branches) which is inconvenient. ============= I've bought a competing product twice and they lasted about a year. I tried this one based on the reviews. This product looked more durable and appeared to have a better handle. I tried it out the day I opened the box. The first couple of cuts (blackberry vines only... no more than 1/4 inch) were like butter. By cut 10 it started seizing. By cut 15 the device broke. There a bolt like piece that connects the handle to the blade. The bolt snapped. It seemed like it was going to be a great product, but I was severely disappointed. I'm going back to the other product. 1 year is better than 15 minutes. Seems like there are a lot of happy people out there. I guess the first one I got was a lemon.

Works well. Be aware of its limitation.
This pole mounted pruner is made well and works as advertised. Just remember that its limit is on tree branches that are 1/2" diameter or less. I like the "grabber" feature where the branch is held by the adjacent mechanism as long as one keeps pressing the handle after cutting. One can then place the cut piece to a desired location instead of letting it fall straight down. One can also rotate the business end of the pruner to desired angle as needed.

Easy to use, works great, very sharp. I just wish it was longer, so need to return.

Glad I purchased this pruner. Well made. Does not extend in length, only as long as it is. Nice and sharp.
