Tuning for Wind Instruments: A Roadmap to Successful Intonation Paperback – December 1, 2012

I needed this book because a band director who I really look up to told me this was the only essential book to teach band. It has so much information about tuning and my favorite parts are how it describes the cents needed when tuning chords! It also talks about the tendencies of certain notes on each instrument! I am very impressed with this book and agree that it is a need for band directors.

This is an incredible resource for any educator or student. The wealth of information is fantastic. My students are able to find out the tendencies of their instrument and it clears up many intonation issues.

An in-depth look at the many problems facing music educators today. It gives us a much better understanding about the tuning process. Thanks!

This is the best resource on my shelf. Every band director should have this.

I don't have enough good words to say about this book. Buy it. Period. As soon as I began using it, my group's intonation improved tremendously. The fruit of that improvement was seen in our band adjudication scores this past March and May.Very accessible and user friendly (including pages that are okay to duplicate and pass out to students).

You would think of all the books and studies out in tuning the band, we did not really need another one, but this is a great addition to the band director 's library. I am still reading or and coming up with ways to use in my rehearsals.

This book is an extremely helpful resource that all band directors should read through. The quality of the information is excellent and very practical to apply in a classroom setting to improve pitch issues in an ensemble. There is also helpful information that applies to beginning pedagogy as well.
