It's actually quite big and very loud when you get the batteries in it. It lights up and moves which is just fantastic. I took off a star because the palm tree kept falling off and I had to cut part of the stand its on for it to fit in the slot designated for it. The dinosaur can also pop off relatively easy so you need to make sure that it's really fastened in there or it won't move when activated (but the sound will still work). But once it's in there, it is secure. It fits about one pen. So it's a little obnoxious for just one pen, but it's the right kind of obnoxious. I really do love it and it's worth getting for you or for someone who loves dinosaurs.
