Belting Package!!!
Ok so I've had an Onkyo TX-NR515 amp for a few months now and I had been using a decent pair of floor standing speakers for the front left\right but the rest of my 7.1 setup was achieved using generic 50w 'Made in China' speakers and a powered sub woofer that was made for use with a PC but I have been happy enough with my gaming and movie watching. So I decided the amp was feeling like the black sheep so I ordered this speaker kit to go with it and boy am I glad I did!The quality of the speakers is very good indeed and nothing about them feels cheap (apart from the RCA cable that was included) and they look great. I decided to keep the floor standers where they were and use the Onkyo front left\right as rear surround.I used the Audyssey mic to set the speakers up but the sound was seriously off so I went and set everything up manually.Everything one would hope for in a surround sound set up is there. Great sound (coming from all the correct speakers), astounding bass and it goes without saying this set up destroys what I had been using.Trying to configure the sub by ear is a bit of a task because while in the set up options I could barely hear it when I had it up full but once in game\movie it shook the damn house.I personally don't like the gloss finish but that is only because it loves dust and hair and I have a couple of Ferrets so there's always plenty of hair in the house floating about. One other thing I think you should take note before buying and that is the dimensions of the speakers (especially the sub) because they are a lot bigger than they look.Hope this was helpful to some people.

decent
a decent set of speakers.. but not a patch on the onkyo floor standers i used to have. paired with an onkyo av receiver, the sub doesn't fire at low volumes. still happy, but i wish i'd spent a bit more.

Thumbing Issues with Sub woofer - Revisited Comments after a period of use!
REVISED COMMENT AFTER USE BETWEEN NOV 2013 - MAY 2014I am new to this game with AV systems. I bought this for my AV Onkyo TX-NR414. I read some reviews which indicated that there was a manufacturing defect with the Subwoofer bit of the set of speakers. I found out its NOW true, at first thought it was false. Bought this Nov 2013 and now its May 2014. I have been to the settings and using the manual. The front, surround, center speakers must be set to "Small" not large and the subwoofer set to "on" and cross over to be set at "100Hz" as written. Using this it still thumbs and I tried lower frequencies, 70, 50 and as low as 40Hz the issue is same over a period of time each. The subwoofer ALSO doesn't like stand by mode. If you leave it on standby mode the next time you want to use it, it wont work until you switch off from the mains and wait for a few minutes and turn back on again. This I have tried and that's the sorry case.I AM THINKING OF GIVING YAMAHA SYSTEMS A TRIAL!

Best Speakers Ive brought and ive had a few
Some of the Best Speakers I have ever purchased, Well worth the money ! the speakers all give a high quality sound that does not distort or go "tinny". I have these speakers powered by a Sony AV Receiver STR-DH55 and they produce a quality sound for gaming, films and Music i would recommend to any one after a quality system.

Great product
For the entry level, this Onkyo is perfect! It adds bass and a lot of surround when connected to an Onkyo amp, but I find that the basic speaker cables that come with it are not up to the standard of the amp. Other decent cables make a LOT of a difference. Lucky enough I had a good deal with pro cables included, so I'm happy. You don't have to break the bank for a decent home cinema. What I was most amazed about though, was that the Onkyo 309 (which is supposed to do its best in the audio part of the many tasks it does, got rid of the "ghosting" in the 3D image from a SKY HD box, due to its clever 1080p image upscaling... I was pleasantly surprised by this. And the delivery took less than two days, so 5 stars from this point of view.

Flawed gem
.I purchased this Onkyo speaker set a month ago and have been hearing an occasional 'pop' / 'thump' from the sub-woofer.It was a while before it dawned on us that the noise was coming from the speaker rather than our next door neighbour (they're prone to knocking masonary nails into their walls regularly).Doing some web research (after purchase, foolishly), it seems that this has been a common fault over a few years, and acknowledged by Onkyo.Apart from this flaw, I think the speakers are great. The noise isn't sufficiently protracted or regular enough to be a real nuisance.I could return them - I'm certain Amazon would accept them - but I've got rid of the shipping box and I don't want the bother of making up a suitable packaging.I'm just disappointed that a reasonable sounding set like this would have a such a basic design flaw and that Onkyo has left it unfixed for several years.2 stars deducted from a 5-star product, therefore, because of Onkyo's management of the situation.

Excellent
This buy was very worth the money considering the quality for the price. Hooked the speakers up to my Onkyo TX-SR309 receiver and and it was all sorted out. They go very loud and the bass from the subwoofer is good. Great buy.I would recommend this.
