100+ Characters, 0 Regrets: This Is How You Remaster a Classic!
If you’re into classic JRPGs, Suikoden I & II HD Remaster is a fantastic throwback. These games first came out in the ’90s, when turn-based RPGs thrived on storytelling + unforgettable characters + rich world-building. Back then, Google was barely a thing, so my brother and I would exchange notes (which, let’s be honest, meant doing nasty favors and trading chores) just to make sure we didn’t miss any of the 100+ characters — all in our own separate playthroughs, no save sharing, btw.The hero isn’t just some lone chosen one; the real heart of Suikoden is building your own army — recruiting over 100 characters, each with their own stories + personalities + unique abilities. Tracking them down is half the fun and incredibly addictive!!!The remaster does a great job polishing the visuals without losing that nostalgic pixel charm. The soundtrack still slaps — those tunes will get stuck in your head for days. Combat is classic turn-based: smooth + easy to pick up.What really makes Suikoden shine are the mini-games — from cook-offs to fishing to tense rock climbing — offering fun breaks from the main story. The story? Packed with political drama, shifting alliances, and betrayals that actually hit.If you missed Suikoden back in the ’90s or just want to relive that magic with a modern twist, this remaster is a must-play. It’s nostalgic + deep + seriously addictive! And yes, Suikoden is super replayable (must get that true ending)!Just keep in mind — this is a remaster of two classic ’90s games, not a flashy 2025 blockbuster. You won’t find cinematic cutscenes, massive open worlds, or deep, modern-style character arcs. What you will find is a lovingly preserved slice of JRPG history that still holds up surprisingly well.

YES!!! my favorite jrpgs made a great comeback!!!
i love suikoden from konami. i have played part 1 back in mid 1990s when it released on original playstation and it's sequel part 2 in late 90s. i remember it like it was yesterday. these are very memorable video games. imo Suikoden is on par with Sqaure's final fantasy and Dragon Quest. i never got good ending in Suikoden and at the time i decided to move on to other games but throughout the yrs i wanted to get back to Suikoden but never had the chance due to life. i still have part 2 on my playstation and i keep it in my collection and guard it w/my life!!! i lost part 1 unfortunately. i don't know what happened to it. so when i heard konami was going to do a physical release of Suikoden, w/both games included i immediately pre ordered it and i have been playing it when i got it in mail. im not going to review the games. all im going to say about them, for those who don't know, is that these games are similar to Pokemon, where you have to find 108 stars of destiny to recruit and they will help you in your journey. some can be used to fight in your party while others are support characters. the games are typical turn based jrpg but what makes Suikoden unique is that besides the small battles, there are also large tactical battles where you have to lead an entire army. sort of similar to games like command and conquer or world of warcraft on PC. so in a way, you can say Suikoden is a mixture of traditional jrpgs and american command and conquer. i hope i explained it well enough.so is this game for you? heck yeah!!! if you like jrpgs w/a little mixture of command and conquer, then these games will be for you!! this release will also be good for collectors such as myself and they will be happy that both games are on cart and only requires a small download of 360MB. konami did a good job.my only complaints: no manuals. this is Suikoden 1 and 2, classic retro games, why didn't konami include manuals?! these games deserves manuals and other physical goodies! something to celebrate these great classics!!! it was a missed opportunity imo. besides these small complaints, this collection is a great deal!!!!im very sad that Konami fell from grace and many of their video games like Suikoden didn't survive past playstation 2. it's a very sad situation w/what is going on w/konami these days bc i love many of their video games. i played Konami games since late 80s and they are one of my favorite japanese game developers. i hope Konami can get back up on their two feet and make great games again! they have many great IPs that they own that they can revive esp Suikoden!! if you ask me, what games do i want to play before i die, it would be konami games!!! GO KONAMI!!!

Suikoden I&II Remaster
This is a great collection of two of my favorite games from possibly my favorite series! I'm glad they didn't mess with it too much, but gave it some quality of life improvements and made the graphics a little better. I also like how the soundtrack wasn't messed with because it's awesome already. Updates have been coming out to fix little issues, and I like that. Konami is good for bringing this series back from the dead and I hope more games come out. Maybe 3-5 remaster or a 6th Suikoden would be nice. Meanwhile, I will check out Starleap when it comes out. Buy this game and support the series!

Fun game
Great game compilation.Plays well, only thing I didn't really like was that while in the first game you could do 3x speed in battles, in the second game you can only do 2x speed. It is worth the money.I'm only partway through the second game but by the time I'm done this will be near the top of my switch most played games area.

Jrpg masterpiece
These two games are masterpieces. I played these on ps1 when I was a 10-11 years old. I love jrpg’s and the stories and content within these two games are excellent with multiple endings, and secret unlocks inside the game depending on certain aspects! The game is way ahead of the it’s time! If anyone has second thoughts about trying these two games out, fear not, because you will not be disappointed. The only disappointment you’ll receive is not being able to experience more of it once completed, but even then a second play through is worth it if you didn’t seek out all 108 stars of destiny and get slightly different endings or dialogue. Also once you play through the first one, get ready cause part II is even better!I am so happy these got rereleased on multiple platforms.
