Jeddah Bride

I read Jeddah Bride in a day. I could NOT put it down. The writer takes you on an emotional journey, providing fascinating insights into life in the 70s and 80s in both the U.S. and in Saudi Arabia. You will feel as though YOU are the protagonist because she tells the story in such a detailed and compelling manner.The best book I have read in years. I can't wait until the movie!

This read offers something for everyone. From the first paragraph, the author's story was moving, honest, raw, and heartbreaking.A mother's search for lost children after a bitter divorce is a story that I thought I had already seen and heard. But no amount of much needed sleep (as a mother of four) could keep me from putting Jeddah Bride down. It was simply too good. This is a novel like no other, with a story and words curated in a way that are both smart and illustrative, but also deeply pierce the heart.What I didn't expect was a flash education on Saudi culture, and unspeakable first hand accounts of shocking events. Yet, the author somehow offered a hearty helping of unexpected cheeky humor to round out and balance the work. This is a book that I will not be sharing with my buddies. They will have to buy their own.

Surely to be a Netflix series one day, Jeddah Bride tells a riveting story
