Perfect for starting out if you’re serious
The media could not be loaded. There are so many knives with the word Japanese in the description. That seems to be because many Japanese made knives have a reputation for being of quality. Unfortunately, many Chinese made knives use the same term to confuse buyers. This set is not Japanese made. The company is Chinese. The set consists of European style knives. The Santoku is the closest but even that is western style.I have tried a knife from Keemake before and was not very impressed. However, this set shows that they can step it up. Just opening the box gives the impression of a more professional level. The metal is said to be German steel. I can’t independently confirm this but it certainly looks like high quality. They are full tang but due to the handle being completely covered, that is difficult to confirm. Speaking of the handle, the parka wood looks fantastic and sets this set apart. The blade is thinner than the German and Japanese professional knives that I am used to. You can see in the picture that these knives appear to be a little less than half as thick. This means that the weight is less. That will help those who tend to get discomfort or tired when using heavier knives. The downside, though, is that the knives will probably not last as long. The Henkels in the picture is 30 years old and can still be sharpened to a fine edge. Also, when I was cutting a large, firm apple, it was difficult pushing the blade through. With the Henkels, the thickness of the blade separated the edges more so that the edge could cut more easily. On the paring knives, the width next to the handle is a little larger than the German equivalent. This is a small point but if you have a Henkels knife block like I do, they will not fit completely. However, after using them for a week, they are proving to be very effective. I especially like the bread knife which is a little longer and sturdier than the one I am using.Per knife, this is a great deal. They should just drop the Japanese term and stand by their own quality. For someone that aspires to do refined cooking, these are very good. If you are interested in professional cooking, this may be a less expensive way to get started to make sure that is what you want to achieve.

They look like they should cost twice as much...
This knife set would easily cost twice as much if sold by a name brand manufacture. I'm a knife nut and I have too many knives, some very expensive. Lately I've been buying cheap knives for every day use. I wouldn't do this, but with three kids in the house who use a knife and then just toss it in the dishwasher, I have have to.First thing to know, you should never put a knife in the dishwasher. You hand wash it. Dry it off and put it away. Your knives will stay sharp longer. This knife set comes with 3 knives that are not only well made, but well balanced also. Out of the box they are very sharp. They do use a cheaper metal, so they won't stay sharp as long as ones with a higher grade metal. That being said, I would recommend this set to someone who knows how to sharpen knives. If you don't fall into this category, you'd be better off passing on these. There are must cheaper knives out these that you can just throw away when they get dull. Even if you were to spend 4 times as much on a knife, sooner than later it would need sharpening. If you can find a place that sharpens knives , it cost about $30 to have it done. So a gain, a $10 throw away knife would be more cost effective.I'm not trying to push people away from nice knives, just trying to make it clear all knives take work. If you can't do the work yourself, you'll be spending more money, one way or another. So you've made it this far. I do recommend these knives for anyone who knows how to handle and work on knives. It would even be a nice starter set for someone looking into getting into more expensive knives. The three sizes that are included in the set will cover most chopping and cutting the average home cook will encounter. A bonus is they also look very nice.

Great Knives!
I really like these knives! The 3 that I ordered are all well balanced and feel very comfortable in the hand. Each of these arrived very sharp and so far seem to be keeping their edge. When I say they are sharp, I mean razor sharp!! Having been using them for about 3 weeks now, I have not seem any difference in their performance over time and I am very hopeful that this set will end up being a long term part of my kitchen!Their construction is excellent! Each knife is well balanced and I can find no flaws where the handles meet the bolsters as there are no gaps or overlap. The handles of each knife are a beautiful wood and as such I will NOT being putting these into the dishwasher and will only be hand washing them to make sure the handles last as long as possible do not warp or split due to mishandling in a dishwasher. These knives really are gorgeous to look at and cutting and chopping with them has been effortless and easy!I definitely recommend this set and even would go as far as to say this would be perfect as a gift as well!

Sharp, Nicely Crafted Knives
Very well made, heavy wood grain handles with full tang according to mfr. They are lighter and considerably sharper than my several-years-old Cutco knives and also feel lighter in the hand. I still use my Cutco knives for day-to-day stuff food prep, just to keep my Keemake knives from going dull or being abused by others (none-chef kitchen visitors, ehem), but when I want to get some nice cutting done with much more precision and much less effort, I pull out the Keemake knives. The hardened steel really makes a difference in sharpness, but I've read a couple of reviews that make me want to treat them with kid gloves since the hardened steel is more brittle and one reviewer said he actually broke one of the knives crushing garlic with it. In any case, I treat them well, keep them in the original box in their own kitchen drawer, and love using them!

A nice quality knife set that is perfect for many cooks.
I am strictly an amateur at cooking and was in need of some better quality knives to replace my cheap dollar store ones that no longer serve my needs and when I saw these KEEMAKE Chef Knife Set Kitchen Knives I decided to order them.Upon unboxing you are presented with five knives: chef, bread, santoku, utility and paring. There is also a wiping cloth and a booklet. These knives feature an attractive Pakkawood handle that has a full tang is very well integrated with the blade. The knives are quite lightweight and well balanced. Being lightweight means that they are less tiring on your hand and wrist during cutting sessions. The knives are very sharp and I had no issues cutting through any food that I tried. The finish on the German high carbon 1.4116 stainless steel is bright and flawless. The knives are easy to clean with just soap and water and a soft cloth.Overall, these knives are more than adequate for my amateur food preparation needs. They have provided reliable cutting and even after about a month of regular use they still look new and the blades remain razor sharp. If you are in need of some new knives for your kitchen these knives are a good choice in my opinion. Recommended.Priced at $119.99 at the time of this review.

KEEMAKE Messerset Set 2tlg, Santokumesser

excellent knife set
A really awesome set of knives! They're extremely sharp right out of the box, and I've not had to resharpen them at all yet. They cut through even delicate foods like tomatoes so easily, no more struggling or tearing. The handles are comfortable the hold and the knives themselves aren't super heavy. I've had no problems with them developing any discolouration or rusting. I loooove the little pairing knife, it's been an absolute blessing during apple season. The set comes nicely packed in one compact box, and would make an awesome gift. Really happy with these.
