It is a gift
I bought this as a gift so I’m not to eligible to answer. But from what I saw the string looks thin. It was affordable , the color is like the picture .

Super Soft
My Gisimo 2 Balls Merino Wool Yarn arrived securely packed and free of damage.First Impression:I was disappointed at first when I received my yarn. I was expecting 12ply/super bulky yarn, but instead received something more akin to 3-4ply/fingerling/light weighted yarn. I’m not sure if I received the wrong item, or if perhaps there is a discrepancy in terminology on the listing’s title. The yarn’s tag suggests 3.0-3.5mm needles, so please be aware that you will not be knitting a bulky scarf with this yarn, but perhaps a beanie or sweater instead. Otherwise, the yarn is indeed soft, and the color matches the vendor’s pics.Knitting:I’m not used to knitting with small/lightweight yarn, so knitting with this yarn was a bit of a challenge. This soft yarn isn’t very forgiving. I kept catching the yarn mid-ply, so I have patches of loose knits/ply.Final Thoughts:Even if I received smaller than expected sized yarn, this yarn is indeed soft (it’s currently the softest yarn in my yarn stash.) I think this yarn will be great for baby items.

Super Soft and Easy to Knit
My rating scale for this product is as follows:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Recommend for everyone⭐⭐⭐⭐ Recommend for most⭐⭐⭐ Recommend for some⭐⭐ Do not recommend⭐ Strongly recommend to avoid/inaccurate listingThis is legitimately a lovely yarn to work with, so it gets five stars! It's soft, pretty, and easy to knit up.My favorite thing about this yarn is the soft and fluffy feel it has right out of the gate. You can definitely tell it has merino wool in it, and even though there is a lot of acrylic, so far, it doesn't have that sticky feel that you often get from full acrylic yarns. The stitch definition is great and so far I haven't had issues with splitting. I am doing a bit of a tighter stitch since my project is a stuffed animal, but I think with a larger needle it would have a nice drape and work well for wearable projects as well.No complaints and I'd happily recommend this to other knitters!

Luxurious is right...
The description called it luxurious and I have to agree. I was leery of mixing merino wool and acrylic. Seemed almost like sacrilege, because I have a high respect for merino wool. But it works!I was also nervous about 12 ply yarn, because I'm not confident in my skills yet.It was a bit tricky turning it into a cake. This stuff is so slippery that it wants to tangle up at the first opportunity, but I went slow and it worked out just fine.I crocheted a little magic ring just to see what it's like to work with it, and now I'm excited. I refer to this color as Christmas red, and it's that time of year, so I'm about to have myself some fun!Beginners beware. If you haven't built the muscle memory, you'll find yourself splitting the yarn. Go slow and use an inline hook, which is great for gripping yarn, and you'll do okay. But if you struggle, just know you're not ready for this yarn. Doesn't mean anything other than you need more practice.

Very soft wool-blend yarn
This is a very fine, soft wool blend yarn. The title is misleading, because it's only 35% Merino, 65% acrylic. I did a burn test and I think those numbers are accurate. It is very light, soft, and thin, with several fine plies. I can see using it for gloves, a scarf or even a sweater. The balls are very small so you would need a lot of them.Overall I like it. But the price is kind of high for 2 small balls with no information about origin.

Lovely yarn!
This wool and acrylic blend yarn is very nice to work with, and it's making a great hat! This yarn is easy to work with, quite smooth and soft on the hands, it frogs easily but is a little prone to splitting. The balls are small and the yarn is roughly a DK weight, so if you're looking to make large items such as sweaters you will need a lot of these. This yarn in dark grey is exactly the color I expected, and I'm quite happy with this yarn.2 Balls Merino Wool Yarn, 12-Ply Luxurious and Soft Yarn for Hand Knitting & Crocheting, 1.76 OZ/50g, 120 yds/110 meters(Dark Gray,2Balls)

Soft and easy to work with
I made this cute little coin purse using a 4mm hook. It crochets up easily enough. The yarn is super soft and ends up looking lovely as well.
