Alclear 5713050M Car Professional Hand Polishing Sponge, Set Of 2, 130 X 50 Mm With All-Round Grip Strip For Waxes

When I first purchased this Alclear product I intended to use it for applying polishes/waxes/sealants. However, when I received it the surface of the pad seemed quite course to me and too rough for this purpose, I didn't want to risk potentially scratching the paint (even using very light pressure as suggested) as other foam pads I've used have been much softer.This is still a fantastic pad, one that I've found an 'off-label' use for. I cut the pad in half (using a craft knife), this then made a great tool for applying tyre dressing, the handle providing great grip/control and the straight edge created useful for getting right up to the lip between the tyre and wheel. The design of this applicator has been well thought out, it is made from a strong hard wearing foam that stands up very well, even to continued heavy use.I found using a gel-based tyre dressing applied to the pad first, then spread onto the tyre wall gave fantastic results, although a liquid/aerosol spray dressing could be applied in the same way. When finished, I cleaned the pad with washing-up liquid and warm water, dried with a paper towel and then stored it in a clear air-tight plastic bag (freezer-type bag with a seal), as the pad/s get very dirty after contact with the tyre wall.

Very good they do get the polish on the vehicle easily. One issue is that it soaks into the foam and is very hard to get out.

Great polishing sponges, when they originally arrived, thought they were a bit big & firm. But was actually to my advantage as they are a perfect size to grip & dont distort. Ones I used to use were to small & flimsy & made my hand ache. These ones also half the time it takes to apply a layer of polish, so all in all, a great buy.One tip, dont bother washing them & wasting product. Simply get yourself a sealable zip bag & store it for ready for next time.

Items arrived quicker than expected so that was pleasing and used one of them today for applying polish and I am just so impressed with how easy this makes it to not only use but how quickly I managed to polish the whole of my car in nearly half the time that I usually take and that's no exaggeration. Firstly, it is a really good size pad for my hand which enables me to get a good, firm grip without squashing it. I then sprayed it with a bit of detailing spray followed by my polish and simply got on with polishing the car. The size of the pad is quite large which is brilliant for me as I own a mpv and it literally saves a lot of time and effort, and most importantly, it does a first class job of applying polish without too much effort. I intend to use the second one to apply my liquid wax which I am confident that it will be just as good for.

Nice quality polishing applicator sponges, very large so maybe not much good for smaller hands. Overall very good and I have only given 3 stars as these sponges seem to suck up a lot of product.

Arrived without any bother, on time and well packed.No issues with the sponge, you can hold it well in your hand and apply the wax/ polish.Better than a cloth,For some hands it may be a little on the large size but other than that I am well pleased with it.

The best applicator I've ever used for car polish. The edges are so clean it prevents going past the area you're working on. It absorbs the product evenly allowing a consistent coat without any spillage. It also stops polish going into panel gaps which is amazing. Easy to clean, my photo is the comparison after washing showing the clean handle above and the applicator base below which keeps its shape too. Highly recommended!
