Solid and well made.
Truly a 1 man tent. I wouldn't recommend for anyone taller than 5'11". That'scmy height and I was end to end. Very well made and easy to setup. That's what I wanted for my over night river trips.

Great for price and starting out.
Works great. It’s definitely not the same quality as more expensive tents but it’s super light and is still great quality. Used it and had me, my toddle and my 65l backpack and each had our own mattress. It rained pretty good not super hard rain but average Oregon mountains amount of rain and did not leak and the inside walls did not get wet or anything. Description said it comes with a footprint but mine did not. Wife used a Kelty grand mesa 2 which is definitely a little better quality material but is smaller than this one. It was her and her 60l backpack a baby with a portable bassinet and she had enough room but idk if it would fit me and my toddler and my stuff. So this one is actually a 2 person tent.

Sturdy enough for normal backpack conditions
From unboxing to set up was maybe 10 minutes. I even read the instructions. Seems sturdy enough for most weather. Probably not good enough for real high winds or heavy snow but should hold up if tied and staked properly.

It fit our budget, intended use, and our van
We grabbed this tent to keep in our pop-top camper Van that we use for camping, adventures, mountain bike trips, etc. The tent isn't meant to be our primary sleeping area since we can sleep four in the van but there are some amazing nights while out on the road that you need to sleep out under the stars and this tent was perfect for those nights. With that said, we weren't too concerned about weight, although, at this price point, 5lbs is very acceptable. We weren't too concerned about durability since it won't get used all that much but we did somewhat pay attention to the packaged size since every square inch in our van is valuable. The tent is pretty standard affair but with Bear's name on it, we felt it at least had some vetting by him or at least his people before it was released on the market. At this price point, I had hoped that the tent would have had two doors so that each of the two people sleeping in the tent had their own access. These newer style tents that don't require feeding the tent poles through sleeves are great and so easy to set up. I saw one of the videos where the guy was suggesting that the nylon at the top to tie the poles together was an afterthought - I disagree - that's pretty standard for tents of this style and price point. It's an important feature so that the hook inside of the tent at the top is supported and can hang things like lights.Overall the material is good, again at this price point. The zippers are good. The mesh is great for those amazing nights under the stars. The rainfly does its job as well. I do appreciate the two vents built into the fly, although they are a little wonky - I suppose it does help vent the hotter air trapped in the top of the tent.Overall it's a great tent and fits our budget, intended use, and our van. Again, we won't be using it all that much but if it should start to fail us sooner than expected, we'll be sure to report back and update this review.

This trip leader says — great tent!
I’m an avid outdoors person who has worked in the adventure travel and outdoor industries, including as a trip leader and guide. I have also taken a lot of individual trips over the years. I have used a lot of tents and here is my assessment.Weight:I was looking for a sub-5lb backpacking tent with a full fly, and this is 2.04 kg (4.5 lbs) option is the perfect balance between weight, size and value for money. Note: It doesn’t come with a footprint, which I will get in order to protect the tent bottom, and that will add a little bit of weight.Size:I am 6’ and 150” and would not want to be much larger and use this tent. I can fully lay down, and I can almost sit up straight. Actually, if I don’t use good posture (sorry mom), I can sit up fine at the peak. This fits a standard sleeping bag, small backpacking mattress and some miscellaneous items (water bottle etc) fine. Your pack will be outside.Design and quality:The tent has a mesh body with bathtub floor, with a zipper door that is raised up some, keeping water and debris out. The fabric is decent although not as heavy duty as my premium tents. The zippers seem fine but are not name brand. The fly has great coverage and includes a small vestibule for my boots and emergency “downpour” pack storage. I really like that I can open two small vents on the fly; they are held open with covered mini-poles with Velcro tabs. The fly is seam sealed and the exit opening has a zipper and Velcro closures. It remains to be seen if the Velcro gets gunked up with outdoor debris over time. Inside the tent, there is a small pocket for valuables.Set up and break down:It is simple to set up solo. It took me fewer than 5 min from zipped into the carry bag to having it set up with the fly on. The poles are light but sturdy. The tent clipped on easily and the fly buckled in fast. The tent breaks down just as quickly. One note: I wasn’t able to get it back into the zipper bag so put it in a compression sack I had.The nice mix of features and the light weight, for $119 makes this tent an excellent value.

I LOVE everything about this tent…..except
I got this for solo motorcycle camping but it would also work for backpacking. Packs up very light and small. Took less than 5 minutes to set up the first time. It is free standing so you can easily move it around once up, or set up on a hard surface. No pegs required. Nice little storage bag inside. Zippers worked well. Rain fly is great. Little covered vent windows on each end. Easy to get on and off.MY only con is that it is too short head to toe. I’m 5’11” and my toes and forehead both hit the tent wall when lying on my back, especially with a mattress. I don’t think I could sleep like that so I’ll keep this for a grandkid. I would say 5’8” or less would have no issues. Great quality lightweight tent at a budget price.
