Don’t let its size or price fool you!
Let me start by admitting that I have a problem. I literally own 20+ samplers, some dating back to the 90s. That being established, I love this thing. The sound that you can achieve with it is perfect for both Boom Bap and LoFi music production. The Roland P6 has three available sampling rates, 44.1khz, 22.05khz, 14.7khz, and 11.024khz. So you can sonically mangle drums. Plus, it resamples, so you can use it for sound design. Adjust a sound, add an effect and resample. Lather, rinse, and repeat. The screen is super tiny so there will be lots of menu diving and strange codes to memorize. However, if you use it as a sample processor and then send that result to another sampler or a daw, you’re going to be a happy camper. So in conclusion, think of it as a little modern SP-202. (My Old School Hip Hop heads will know what this is). Its screen is tiny, so it’s probably not designed to be your main or only sampler. But the variable sample rates, effects, resampling, and other features make it valuable tool in your production back pack. Hope that helps, and have an awesome day Anthony!

Great sampler, be ready to menu dive and get familiar
This unit arrived in the stock packaging and was new as noted. All functions work perfectly. It seems very well made. It is a versatile and portable little sampler for the size. Menu diving is essential for this unit and the smaller screen size which I knew before the purchase.

It’s good
The box was damaged by arrival and I just noticed tiny scratches on the p6 though it was a used one but all that aside it’s a cool sampler if u like sampling things and getting creative with the sound design this is for you

Roland P-6 aka mini SP404!!
Fabulous service. Ordered the Roland P-6. This is a powerful little bugger! Reminds me of a mini SP-404, in the same family. I would recommend if you make sample based music. Remeber you can always pictch/speed up longer samples to work around the P-6 limited sample memory. On board MFX is cool too. There is alot going on in this portable powerhouse.

Would be a nice first sampler for everyone!
Pros: -It can sample & resample (that was a jab at the Elektron Model Samples & the Volca Sample lol) - has the same MFX as the sp404mk2 -sequencer is pretty good (64 steps with microtiming and parameter locks) -has a DJFX Looper - granular engine (which there's a midi CC list in the manual for deeper controls) Cons: -the menu diving and buttons combos for simple stuff like copying a pattern can be a little wonky. - No velocity sensitive pads (although you can edit velocity level or get it externally with a midi controller -Very small knobs, so if you have big hands it will take some getting used to. -Super noisy when USB is plugged in (especially when the compressor is on) - NO timestretch -No way of storing beats on the device other than what you have on the pads. -sample time Overall: if you can work with any of these cons, this is probably perfect for you. Especially if you're just trying to jam. It's also a great tool for using with other samplers and synths. This cost less than the 1010 music Lemomdrop so having granular on here is kind of a clutch feature.

Easy - Simple interface
Finally! - A user friendly interface. Plug it in to your CPU, press a button (Sampling), turn it on and Just drag and drop your samples in to this machine like it's an external hard drive! Brilliant! No additional software needed. (Although that is available) I used Garage Band to make edits and export as a WAV file. Props to Roland for making life easy.(er)

Blown away by how much is packed into this tiny box. Full of good surprises. Quality pretty amaze-balls for something this compact. I wish the keys were a bit nicer, more tactile to touch would be my only, biggest complaint, the rest meets my expectations as it does what it says on the tin... and then some.

A great unit makes sampling fun. Battery lasts a decent amount. The unit is portable and light weight. I recommend it.

Impossible to figure out without instructions or any samples preloaded. Online instructions don’t jive with the cryptic calculator screen that isn’t in any known language. For professionals only. Dabbling in sound exploration shouldn’t cause stress- it should alleviate it.
