I was looking for a soldering project for a group of 4-H kids. Since the age range of the kids is pretty wide, I needed something that was going to be easy to assemble correctly (not to many chances for mistakes) and something that the kids would enjoy making and then playing with. This gyroscopic toy seemed "too good to be true" for the price, but it turned out great. Despite what other reviews said, it did come with a printed assembly sheet, plus a QR code for online instructions. The Printed Circuit board was smaller than I expected (2" diameter) but it was still just fine. As an experiences electronics guy, I assembed it in about 10 minutes, and it worked right away. So I expect it will be a 30-45 minute group assembly project. The vibration switch is a great addition because it only uses the battery when it's spinning, and the LEDs are really quite bright. The LEDs are actually quite mesmerizing. Just remember that you will need two CR2032 batteries for each unit.

All the components were there, and it was relatively easy for my kids (ages 7 and 9 years old) to solder them in place. The only instructions were in Chinese, but the kids were able to figure it all out on the first try. They did have a bit of a head scratch on what direction to put in the LEDs, but correctly guessed that negative went with the white side on the board. Note that two CR2032 batteries are required but not included.

Fun to build. When I figured out to make it work, the display was impressive!

This “product” came 13 days late, is marked as an electric pencil sharpener, is smaller than A Quarter, 0 quality because it’s too tiny and built for miniature use with bifocals not for a beginner don’t waste your money like I did and is NOT worth any money spent on it!!! I want a full refund!
