My roof had fairly heavy growth on the north-facing sides, complete with miniature red blooming flowers, it was seriously infested. I did the roof wash last summer, then installed the zinc strips. I intended to do another wash this spring, however, when I went onto the the roof to do this I was stunned to see all of the growth, and I mean all, was completely gone. I had been seeing small pieces of the "plants" at the gutter downspouts, but I didn't realize it was being completely eradicated. The zinc biocide worked perfectly.Installation wasn't difficult, I think if I did it again I'd screw rather than nail it down. One before photo, two after.

This product is very easy to put on. I will give an update in about 6 months. To let everyone know if it's performing as advertised. I did use it in combination with moss out by Lilly Miller.

I bought this to install on my Shed roof on both sides at the peak. The shed sits under tree cover and is covered with moss. I will install this once the moss killer spray kills the moss and I have cleaned it off. It did come with nails with neoprene washers, but no instructions (at all) on suggested methods to install or how far to place the nails and whether they need to be under the shingles (which I'm assuming), or straight through the shingles with the neoprene washers sealing the nail hole.

I installed this product over a month ago. it was very easy to install. i first bleached the shingles on the shed and scraped off all the algae the next day. Then I installed the zinc shield near the ridge cap. so far I have no more algae on the roof.

This installed very easily, partially under my ridge vent. It was thick enough not to tear. I spoke to customer service to ask some questions and it was like going to college for the product. Great answers. Highly recommended.

Installed this strip on roof to control algae and moss growth on roof. Works good, but takes a few months to kill algae. I sprayed my roof with a 6% bleach solution to kill the algae before I installed the zinc strips. Now when it rains the zinc leaches out of strips and keeps algae from coming back!!! Only had to install on north side of house!!!!

This item does not come with nails for installation. Should have ordered directly from ZincShield, cost for strip + nails with shipping would have been about the same.
