Looks fragile but is very sturdy and durable. Kind of expensive for what you get but there is very little when it comes to alternatives. The open interface allows air to flow freely from above (BOBOVR S3) and from below (neck fan) which makes this the best interface for cooling. The open frame may affect 'immersion' but it will help minimize motion sickness.

Great for games/activities that have you work up a sweat, but you do sacrifice some immersion due to the openess of your peripheral vision with this facial interface. It's great for glasses too; it has an integrated spring mechanism that helps keep it both comfortable and in place if you wear glasses, so you don't have to adjust them for glasses yourself, they do it automatically based on how tight you set your head strap. Your glasses will still probably fog up during intense movement, but they'll also go back to normal faster with the increased airflow. Also, this one is way harder to remove than the included one once installed. I was able to squeeze the bottom part and get it to come off around the nose, but it really holds on near the head strap arms. I use a very small flat tip screwdriver (one out of a multi-tool works great) with a twisting/turning motion to gently pry this facial interface out of the Quest 3, pops right out, doesn't take much twisting of the screwdriver. This is especially important given the spring mechanisms are in the way and appear to be easy to break during removals.

I've bought more "comfy" facial interfaces than I’d like to admit, and for the longest time, I avoided the open-style designs—big mistake! After using my Quest 3 for over a year, I can’t believe I waited this long to try one. This is hands down the most comfortable interface I’ve worn. No more overheating or getting ridiculously sweaty during AR/VR workouts. What really surprised me is that it still maintains immersion incredibly well. I’ve found myself even more lost in games like Racket Club and Supernatural because my peripheral vision blends seamlessly with my real-world surroundings. It almost feels like I’m just wearing glasses. Even in full VR experiences, I’m so dialed in that the open sides don’t bother me—if anything, I appreciate that my face can finally breathe. TL;DR: Do not hesitate to buy this interface! It’s seriously fantastic all around—especially if you value comfort and breathability.

The open design keeps the air flowing, no more fogging or overheating when I’m deep in a game. What really won me over is that it plays nice with my glasses. No pinching, no awkward shifting — it just works, and that’s a blessing. Comfort level is high, fit is snug but not smothering, and I can keep on questin’ without fuss. + Less Sweat + Less Motion Sickness + Perfect for Mixed Reality + Ok for Virtual Reality - Needs another cover if you don't like the material - expensive - occasional reflection or glare under bright lights A must-have accessory *for a certain kind of VR user*. If you get motion sick, sweaty hot, or do a lot of MR you need this! Having the sides open is just better nearly all of the time. Its not like that black tunnel vision is actually more immersive. Checking your phone, not tripping on the cat, and passthrough menu is just better. I already had a velcro/plether face pad from AMVR and that fit right on, but the fabric one .... is fabric. Even regular VR is a trade-off that I think is better.

I wasn't expecting much when I pre-ordered this but man, I'm impressed. Because it doesn't have the strength of a full frame, what one might consider flexibility of this interface a bad thing, it actually allows for the cushion to contour to your face which reduces the rubbing and irritation to basically nothing and makes it super comfortable. The open sides will take a bit of getting used to, but it's worth it for the comfort and breathability. I sweat terribly and my cushions are always soaked. I played for 3 hours (clay hunt vr/walkabout golf) and normally my cushion would be waterlogged, with this interface, it was barely damp. I'm not going to pretend you don't lose any immersion because you do lose some, but it's not that noticeable once you get used to it. For the added comfort and cooling, it's well worth the trade off. I have 3 dogs and it's nice being able to look down and make sure they, or one of their bones, aren't by my feet. Time will tell how durable it is. I have no plans of swapping it with other interfaces because I like it so much. If you do, durability could possibly be a concern. I'm very happy with my purchase even though I fully expected to be disappointed.

It's great for its purpose which is to let air flow in and keep fog up and sweat from accumulating. It does let a ton of light in, so if you are in a well lit room or with windows it will hit the immersion pretty hard. If you are going to use it for exercise or with passthrough enabled you will either not care or it will be less noticeable. Alternatively if you are in a dark room you wont notice. It does NOT have the same adjustment as the default interface to allow for more clearance for glasses wearers so be aware, your lenses might rub and cause scratching. It does feel a bit flimsy and doesn't really snap in as well as the default interface the top locked in for me but the bottom just sorta hangs there. If they fixed these two issues it would be great, at this price though it's very niche.

The open facial interface should come with the Quest as default. The main benefit is that it allows better airflow so you don't sweat as much and moisture doesn't build up in the interface, which some people have reported as causing their Quest to break after extended use. The second benefit is that your peripheral vision is way better with the open interface, your brain just processes the background easier so your spatial awareness is less impacted. As expected from official gear, it's high quality and well designed. It's a must have for anyone that uses the Quest for VR fitness classes, though I am thoroughly disappointed that this does not come default with the Quest.

I have mostly been using my headset as a viewer for 2D screens placed over my real space in mixed reality and the added peripheral view is great but I would say the biggest benefit is being able to use the headset on a warmer day since it doesn’t cut off airflow like the regular light shield face masks would.
