Beautiful pen at an exceptionally attactive price - Affordable quality
Absolutely stunning in both looks and performance. At last, a quality pen that feels perfect to hold and write with at a very attractive price (albeit on an Amazon deal). The German Schmidt refill allows for a smooth and freeflowing writing experience without the sensation of drag, scraping or scratching I've come to find on other, cheaper rollerball pens - so these days I only purchase pens from Amazon if I am assured they come with either Schmidt 888 or Schneider Topball 850 refills. The 0.5mm fine point on this pen actually writes more like a medium nib but that might just be down to my style of writing. I couldn't find in the specification how much the pen weighed (and "Ask Rufus" AI was useless coming up with a ridiculous 200g!) so I got the kitchen scales out and compared the weight with my other quality pens coming up with a surprising 33g - the same as the Beiluner even though I thought the Mcnteik was slightly lighter. Certainly not a problem for me as I like a bit of weight to a pen as it makes for a quality experience when writing. The barrell feels a tiny bit thinner in shape than the Beiluner but again, nothing to be critical about as this is all subjective and down to personal preference. The overall presentation is also perfect as I've not come across anything better in terms of the box and cardboard sleeve making this pen a fitting present for the usual family celebrations or for any achievement recognition. With the bonus of a spare refill whats not to like about this beautiful pen. This is going to be my go to everyday pen and already looks premium in my jacket pocket ..... I just hope I don't lose it on my travels!

Wow... what a surprise. I was looking for a sturdy pen that I can carry in my front pocket. Ordered another one for that purpose, but purchased this pen as well because it was close second, looked interesting and did not cost too much. Was I ever surprised when it arrived. The feel, quality, weight of the pen was excellent and the Schmidt rollerball writing is smooth and exquisite. Just had to leave the review. Now I'll have to get a fountain pen from Mcnteik, too.

I've had several rollerball pens, and I especially like the fine point ones, but have had issues with skipping with the 5 mil ones. Some pen designs are rather thick or too thin to feel especially good in the hand. This MCNTEIK pen is of the old fashioned fountain pen design and really feels good to hold and use. The quality of design is outstanding, well balanced, with a very durable all metal construction. The 6 mil ink thickness flows nicely, with no skipping or smearing. Top that off with a great looking gift box, and not only are you giving yourself a great gift, the money will be well spent as a gift for your favorite person.

Just received my new "favorite pen"! It's exceptional from the packaging and overall feel of the pen. I've used countless pens before, but this has a substantial feeling in my hand when writing. It glides along the paper as you write. I purchased this for a paper planner, and it works perfectly. It does not have bleed-through with the Full Focus and Franklin planners, and identical to the Pilot G-2 ink pens (which I've used for years). Great pen and great value for the look and feel of this pen! Cheers!

This is a very nice capped roller ball pen. A lot of Vine reviews have already talked about the nice finish and feel, but without providing numbers or other info on the pen. In fact, there were almost nothing BUT Vine reviews, which made me a bit nervous about a purchase, but I bit the bullet and am very pleased so far. My only potential concern would be the long term durability of the frosted matte black finish, but that is in the future. This review will try to cover what doesn't seem to be mentioned elsewhere, the size, weight, and refills. The following info shows the size and weight, and comparison to a one of my name brand (P) Chrome metal fountain pens: The length of this pen is identical to the fountain pen. The capped pens are both 5 1/2" long, the caps are each slightly less than 2 1/2" long, and each pen without the cap attached is 4 3/4" long. The diameters were slightly different, with this pen being 0.55" diameter, and the fountain pen being 0.59" diameter. The fountain, with ink, weight is 1.15 ounces, while this pen with the supplied Schmidt cartridge weighs slightly more at 1.2 ounces. In actuality, aside from the chrome metal fountain pen being more slippery, the 2 pens felt very similar in my hand. The main difference was that the cap on this roller ball didn't 'post' as far down on the pen body as the fountain pen during use, making it slightly longer and slightly more top heavy than the fountain pen. The refills are a major point in favor for this pen. Not many people realize that the pilot G2 pens are roller balls. An internet search revealed that the pilot G2 is a great substitute in most roller ball pens of any price. That was true for this Black forest pen as well- A pilot G2 right out of a pen works perfectly. This is important, because the pilot G2s are available in 4 different ink widths (0.38, 0.5, 0.7, and 1 mm) and a dozen different colors, while the much higher priced European roller ball refills usually are only available in 2 width, and in black, blue, and occasionally red. In conclusion, this is a very nice pen, giving a fountain pen-like experience without the fixed width, fragile nib, and refill issues of a fountain pen. The durability of the finish would be my only concern, but so far there is nothing to indicate it will be a problem. For this price, you really can't go wrong, in my opinion.
