Being that it is freezing temperatures where I live, I figured now would be the best time to test these hand warmers. Let's start with the good! They come in these soft liquid gel, encased in a soft plastic. To activate, there is this disk that can be pressed. After a few presses, like magic, the liquid hardens all at once and warmth starts to radiate. I slipped two in my pocket, and went out on a walk in 30° F weather. They did indeed keep my hands warm, for about 30 minutes before running out of "juice". I then went home, boiled them per the instructions, and they went back to liquid gel. Clicked the disk a few more times and like MAGIC, they hardened again and they were warm! I don't know HOW many times you can do this before they stop working all together, and I honestly do not understand the science behind it, but it's pretty cool. Now for the cons. Clicking the disk, is not easy. And due to how it works, I'm worried after a few uses, I might slice through the plastic. The warmth is good, but not the best. Electronic hand warmers will be warmer. So will hot hands. That's it. They work, they work well, they continue to work due to being reusable, the size is perfect, I can easily highly recommend these!

I have been interested in these "snap" style hand warmers and was pleased to try these out. They would be fine for a child as they don't get all that hot and they are small. In an ice rink, they were warm enough to be effective for approx. 15 minutes.Quality control wasn't on duty the day mine were made as one came without the snap in it, so that one was useless. It worked out ok though because I typically use them in pairs (one in each glove) and this set came with an uneven number (5).They were easy to "reset" in boiling water. I don't know if I'd use these all that often though because it's easier to plug in the rechargeable style hand warmers as opposed to boiling water for these.Overall, they are ok for certain usage (small children), but there are better options out there for longer lasting hand warmers.

I mainly got this as I remembered having a rectangular shaped hand warmer like this when I was a little kid growing up in Asia. I recall it was easy to click and enjoy the pouch for over 30 min, but this watermelon shaped ones are quite difficult to click, and they last approximately 10 min in giving staying "warm". I like seeing the action of the liquid crystalizing, but I would like to see these 5 watermelon slices combined into one big slice, as that will probably last longer as a whole. Overall, I was disappointed by how short-lived the heat was, and as an adult, I can click, but my kids absolutely couldn't. It's cute though.

So great for quick use.- They are extremely difficult to snap (i.e. adult may need to do it), but that’s a positive if you keep them in a backpack or jacket pocket for emergency use. Maybe don’t wait to turn them “on” until your fingers are too frozen.- Instructions are simple and suggest 5 minutes to “re-charge” and liquify crystals. It took less for a few of the pouches, but expect 5 minutes to be completely ready to re-use.
