I’ve used Lipivir for a few years and it does a great job at stopping cold sore outbreaks before they develop. However, they must have changed the recipe recently because my newest tube smells horrible! It never used to have any smell at all. Still worth using but… bleurgh.

I was allergic to it and it triggered a skin infection.

Only been a week... however, I usually feel the onset of an episode of a coldsore coming on...Since using it I defo havn't had a break out episode... so it must be helping ...My only thing is.........WHY DOES IT SMELL LIKE ARSE!!!... ??? LOL

I'm a long term lipvir customer. think 10+ years. needless to say I swore by lipvir, it always had my back and always worked. it prevented my cold sores about 95% of the time, and when it didn't, it sped up the process and minimised the appearance and discomfort. every time. without fail. that's why it was my only go to for as long as I can remember.I was a little suspicious, when I realised they pulled the product and then this one showed up. I was hoping it's just a visual identity change but no, the product has changed too.lo and behold, it doesn't work. I had the worst flare-up and it made it worse.not to mention the smell. it never had a GREAT smell, but I was never HORRIBLE. until now. it absolutely stinks and is gross. like th other reviewer said... smells like booty.it's also really liquid.I had a dollop of the old tube still sitting in my drawer and I could compare them. the only improvement here is the packaging itself as it's less likely to bend and split as you squeeze the tube.I'm devastated. my one and only saviour is gone. shame on you lipvir 🥺
