I read a lot of reviews where the reviewer had commented that the cable that goes from the laptop to the keyboard wouldn't fit. I can say that in my case it fit just fine. It is a bit tricky to get it seated properly, but once you do the OEM cable will work just fine with this unit. A couple things to keep in mind. First, you will have to use the cable that's on your existing keyboard, it does not come with the new keyboard. Second, the cable is held down with some pretty tough glue and you will need to slide something under it and slowly pry it off the old keyboard. Don't try to rip it off or you will damage the cable. Third, make sure you are putting the cable on properly...there is a PC and Keyboard side, if you manage to get it backwards it won't work. Last, when you attach the cable to the laptop make sure the connector tab is all the way open and then slide the cable as far as you can into the connector before trying to push the connector back down. This is the tricky part, I found of you wiggle it a little side to side and you slide it in it much easier, but you will feel it go in just a bit further and then you know you have it seated properly and you can push down the locking tab.

Keyboard was easy to replace, for the E6530 series (so you don't have to look it up): http://www.dell.com/support/Article/us/en/19/SLN293292/EN#Third_Removal is the link to the correct step by step instructions.This review is for the non-backlit keyboard (oops - got excited and bought the non-backlit instead of the backlit one I wanted - oh well, works fine).Keyboard arrived quickly and took about 20 minutes to find the correct instructions, and about 5 minutes to remove the keyboard bezel, the 3 retaining screws on the rear of my E6530, the 3 keyboard retaining screws. Gently remove the static tape from old keyboard (keep), flip up your flat black lever on the original keyboard, which releases the flat ribbon cable, and gently loosen the sticky adhesive under that cable and pull loose (MAKE SURE THE LEVER IS IN THE UP / RELEASED POSITION). Now, switch out keyboard, flip up lever on new keyboard, gently put in the flat ribbon cable and push in till it seats correctly, then close the lever, and re-apply the static tape. Flip keyboard over and secure the 3 retaining screws, then re-attach the keyboard bezel. Flip laptop over and add in the 3 screws on the rear of laptop.Enjoy new keyboard!

Arrived on time as expected and was brand new in the box. Was very easy to swap out on my Dell Lattitude E6520. Happy I didn't have to send my laptop back to my company, as it probably would have been a month before I got it back. Note: be very CAREFUL when removing and re-installing the ribbon cables. Ensure you gently pull the tape off of the smaller ribbon cable connector. There are tiny clips that WILL move up and down freely, but be gentle with them. The whole process took less than 5 minutes. Everyone in the office was watching to see what would happen when I powered up. SUCCESS!

This did not fit my E6520. Check your keyboard first. My (original) keyboard has three ribbon cables coming off the circuit board and going into the keyboard. This keyboard only has two ribbons. when inserted into my computer, the keyboard did not work at all. I would assume because it's missing the third ribbon cable. Here is a picture of my original - see how they are different.

Key placement is different than the oem keyboard.

Quality product. Have now had it for quite some time and it works perfectly with no faulty keys at all.

I was going to give them 4 stars for not mentioning that it doesnt come with the flat cable ut its working fine now with the old one.

This was used material when received. Installed on the Laptop and it appears to work fine for two weeks. Then had keyboard problems similar to my old keyboard. This is not new material. Don't buy from this guy.
