To be honest, I don't know what "stretch" means, but I love this product, so I have that quality 5 starts, too. I had bought one of these before from a different company, and it was cheaply made with pointed parts that extended too far to handle the small spaces weed bases can be in. It even bouyed when I tried to lift stubborn leaves, but not this one! It is extremely sturdy and worked for these odd, bulky sticky weeds that just appeared in my yard this year. When the weather is in the 100s, I don't wear garden gloves, so another reason this device is so nice is because I don't have to actually touch those weeds at all now.

My husband has dubbed this little garden tool as "the best Amazon purchase of 2019". Considering we're heavy Amazon shoppers, this is high praise. I haven't personally used it, but my husband sings its praises as he's digging weeds out of our yard. It's sturdy, comfortable to use and works exactly as it's described. I'm happy our yard has way less weeds, so win win all around.

This will be a sturdy root loosening tool for some roots. However, if you have typical delicate webs of weed roots or heavy roots of established plants, this tool is not as efficient as one with a wider opening and thinner wall might be. This will be able to dig up and loosen dirt but will need dirt that is not compacted hard and dry.

This tool works perfectly. It is made for larger weeds (like dandelions). The tool is extremely light-weight and well dsigned. I've seen quite a few reviews saying that the handle snaps when in use. I can only assume this is from people trying to use the tool on things it is not designed for (such as large tuffs of grass). If you use the tool as designed, I see no reason why this would fail. Very sturdy handle Well made

I have a lot of weeds in my yard. I don't know what they're called but they're the ones that spread out quite a bit and grow super flat to the ground and have pretty thick roots. This device is SO good for popping them right out! After the first day I had a blister on my thumb from trying to remove all the weeds in my front yard. I'm wearing gloves from now on! I have seen many reviews that show the device breaking but I'm really hoping this lasts for a long time.

Pros: Sturdy, well-made, does what it says it does (helps pull weeds by the roots) Cons: You have to really work and work and work to get that weed out of the ground eventually. It's NOT easy. You have to stab this into the ground, find the root, miss, try again, rock this against the ground, over and over again. And maybe you get the weed out with the root, maybe you have to keep digging. I think the fork needs to be longer. There needs to be more fork to it. As is, it's pretty puny. Not as easy to use like in the video provided. So... if you have a few weeds here and there and don't want to spend more money on something else, get this and just pull a few weeds out. No problem. If you have a lot of weeds to pull, find something more efficient. So, yes, I had to return this. Even though it's made well and does what it says...with a lot of work involved. I've got a lot of weeds to pull and this just ain't gonna cut it. Recommended for SMALL jobs.

I'll be honest, I only ordered this because the tool I wanted was out of stock and I had gardening I wanted done quickly. When the GANCHUN Hand Weeder Tool was delivered, I was happily surprised to find it is much sturdier than it looks in pictures. I have had surgeries on my wrist and now also have arthritis, so I have to be careful of putting too much pressure on that joint. I was initially concerned the bend in the handle wouldn't be deep enough to provide the needed leverage for more resistant weeds, but it was very effective and comfortable to use. I absolutely recommend this product.
