I just got my patches today & came to give a review. As I read through the other reviews I couldn’t help but laugh because I almost made the same mistake myself before I realized what was going on. After you get the patch applied to your skin & you feel this thick “tape like” on top of the patch that is another cover that has to be removed! If you bend a bit on the blue lines they will open up & you can pull the thick tape protective covering away to reveal the soft flexible skin like patch that covers your skin around the patch. I know it describes this in the instructions but that is hard for a lot of people to read so here are a few pics to show you the lines on the top & how they lift up & how what they show underneath don’t be like me & undo the big side of the white piece first or it will bunch up your skin like it did mine lol 😂 but just so ya know it’s as thin as your skin. If you feel anything thicker you didn’t take off all of the protective coverage of the patch! I truly like these so far. Hopefully I won’t be allergic to them! I’ll update in 10 days when I remove my monitor! UPDATE: it’s now May I’ve been using these since December & I still recommend them they sometimes come lose around the edges so I’ll take them off & I’ll have to put a new one on but overall they’re great & for the price it’s inexpensive. They feel just like your skin so you don’t even know it’s on because it’s so thin. I’m just finishing half of the package now so one package should last at least a year with the G7 10 day monitoring system & a few extra changes of it probably a bit longer but at minimum a year per package of 60 so not bad because I think I paid less than $7-8 for them.

The product is excellent. It adheres well and keeps everything in place.

I have an adhesive allergy. My skin rips off with band-aids, so I was nervous about applying these. I was more so aggravated with my sensors looking filthy because they would get lint stuck to the Dexcom overpatches. I applied one of these over my last sensor. When I went to remove it, it came off and left my skin intact. Not only did it do that, but it removed the Dexcom overpatch with it when it was removed. I normally have a heck of a time removing those. No skin damage from either overpatch. Definitely worth the money spent.

I put this on (first time using the CGM), 2 weeks ago tomorrow. It has stayed put the entire time! Yay! And what a great price! Now, a friend of mine bought them just after I did and for her, it fell off in the shower. She is very disappointed. She didn't wipe down her arm area with alcohol first, so perhaps that is the reason. I don't know how she fared after applying it the 2nd time. 2 things come to mind: 1. I purchased this one because of the price and reviews. After reading reviews from several, more expensive brands, I came to the conclusion that for some people they ALL come off prematurely - so why not go with the cheapest one that has decent/good reviews; 2. I think all these products will affect people differently due to the level of oil on the skin; perhaps how much one sweats, and how frequently one showers. I didn't notice ANY brand that didn't have at least a little amount of complaining with the product coming off and/or curling on the edges (mine did NOT curl at all!). Lastly, if these don't work, I've read/heard people using a standard band-aid as the cover - with good results. One guy pointed out using those made of cloth vs standard band-aid material. And this is what I will do if and when these give me trouble :)
