In constant use since 2017
I love this little light! My first light that I bought in 2017 is still in constant use as a daily flashlight. Many more were bought after this one, and friends and family love these little lights equally. I used it again today and figured I should finally write a review.I leave it on the windowsill or hang it on a curtain rod to charge when not in use. I’ve never had to replace the batteries or have it go dark on me; it’s just that well made. The A2 has a nifty stainless steel stand that can be rotated around and it will stay in place due to the lamp’s light weight and the way the stand is designed. That way, you can use the stand as a carry handle or hanging loop, with the lamp pointing at a specific angle. This design is absolute genius. All d.light lamps I’ve bought over the years have these three advantages:* Charge well even if it’s not bright and sunny out (they all have an LED indicator for charging)* The light lasts a very long time* Are well made and made to last for years and years of use: not one of the many d.light lamps I bought for myself or as gifts over the years since 2016ish have broken or stopped working* Are light weight

Small, Bright, & Affordable... A different approach to Solar.
I love the approach D.light takes with solar! Being developed mostly for 3rd world conditions they have designed things not only to run off solar, but to work more efficiently with less power so you don't need a full solar array to run them, & are thus more affordable then other solar power solutions. The light is a bit smaller then I thought, which is a plus for my situation due to having very little space. It charges even under indoor light, puts out a surprizing amount of light for it's size, takes up Very little space, is extremely simple to use (Only 1 button for off & on), & seems durable (though I just got it so time will tell)... I'd not only buy It again, but also plan on getting more products from this company!

Works great
I really like having this outside soaking up the sun so never have worry about finding a flashlight if I need one in the evening. The stand also makes it convenient to place it where you need for hands-free light. Seems very sturdy - never worry about it being outside in inclement weather.

Smaller than the original d-light but it's just as bright
I love the original d-light I had bought a couple years ago. I mostly use it for reading in bed at night, bright enough to read by but doesn't bother hubby. But we've had a couple electric outages since I bought the original, and it came in just as handy as a flashlight, to read by and to see by in pitch dark. It's reassuring to know you have something that can be recharged with sunlight, in case of a long-term electric outage. So I bought this second one, a little smaller but charges just as well and I think it's just as bright as the original. The only thing not quite as good as the original, to my way of thinking, is that the little wire base is smaller too, and this one won't fit over the top rail of the banister on our deck outdoors. Oh well, I just put it on the narrower bottom rail, or it could be simply stood right on the floor of the deck in the sun.

A comparison of the A1 and S2 lights
I purchased the A1 and S2 lights by d.light to compare them since they looked similar. The S2 is much larger but is only 50% brighter which is a pretty small difference. The A1 is lighter and a nicer design with a softer light due to the diffuser. The lifespan of the S2 is 5 years vs. 3 for the A1 which make sense due to the beefier build quality of the S2 but honestly the A1 is a better value. Same panel size. Same light quality. One nit: the A1 is supposed to have a charging indicator light like the S2 but mine doesn't seem to have one.EDIT: charging indicator is a green light next to the power button, thanks for the tip Amy!

Nothing short of amazing
A small compact solar light that more than does it’s job. I am a solar light freak and by far this is the best little thing I have wver seen. Bright, compact and versatile. I leave it in a sunny window all day and it lights up my kitchen and hallway all night. No need to turn on those lights. Great look for camping. I wish they would make something a little more visually appealing for only indoor windows. Will get my moneys worth out of this little gem. Buying one for my car and extras for gifts.
