Not cotton. Seems to be a waterproof material. Soft tho.

Q: Do you use these under a pad or does everything just wash off when done? Confused

I use these only as a cold pack to reduce symptoms with swelling and irritation symptoms due to vulvitis. I place them between the panty brief and pj bottom, never directly on skin.

Q: Do you put a pad over these or is the cover thick enough to use and just toss in the wash after?

Doesn't feel as cold with a pad over it. I washed after use

Q: Can you put in the microwave?

No. They're ice packs, and the product mentions nothing about heating them. If you use these for an ice pack, I recommend storing them in the fridge, as they get too hard when stored in the freezer.
