Pop Chef
I purchased this product to make something cute for my neighborhood's annual summer picnic and was a little hesitant because the reviews are not all that great. While I can't review on how it works for bread, cheese and meat, it worked as I'd hoped for fruits. I used it on watermelon, honeydew and cantaloupe to make fruit kebabs.2 or 3 cut pieces did bounce off the plate and land on the floor when I first started, but I don't consider that a design flaw, rather my need to pay attention to the distance from the Pop Chef to the plate when ejecting the fruit. :) I had a few failed ejections as well - when trying to use all the scraps of fruit left over from initial cuts - if the fruit doesn't fill the die when it's cut, you won't be able to pop it out since the air will escape around the fruit rather than pushing it out. The hole at the top of the bulb also must be covered when popping. All in all, it worked very well for me - nicely defined cuts, easy to use, easy to clean up and the kebabs were a big hit. It also brought a little bit of fun into an otherwise rather tedious project.

A glorified cookie cutter
I received it, opened the box, and pieces fell out. It was already broken. I looked inside the box to see if I would like it. It's just a long cookie cutter with a bulb on the air to push air through the "cookie cutter" and pop out the fruit. For some reason I thought I'd be able to cut open a watermelon, stick this thing all the way to fill it up, and that it'd pop out about (5) 1 inch pieces of fruit in your desired shape. WRONG. You have to cut the fruit into 1 inch slices and push this expensive "cookie cutter" into it and hope that the force is great enough to push the fruit out of the cookie cutter. Since I had to prep the fruit by slicing it anyway, I ended up buying 1 1/2" cookie cutters instead. Worked even better, that way, both my daughter and I could make shapes at the same time - it worked out better for bonding purposes to get the cookie cutters instead. In retrospect, this thing is probably much more difficult to clean also.

Easy and Fun for all ages
This pop chef kit is great for adults or kids, I found that the shapes work great in cutting the shapes in bread and fruit the same but as for popping the bread out didn't work for me every time, pops out the fruit wonderfully, nice variety of shapes comes with 3 short shapes sun, flower, butterfly and 3 tall shapes circle, heart, star, kids love this set already used it to make flower shaped Pb&J sandwiches, and heart and butterfly shape watermelon pieces, kids and adults can use this set easily, I have to say that it is easier for me to cut the fruit in no thicker than 1in to cut the shape out easily and make sure the shape is complete or the shape will be harder to pop out, looking forward to using this set for much more.

Fun for kids
The concept of Pop Chef is great and the kids have a fun time trying out the various shapes on different fruits. The fruit does get easily stuck in the little chamber and the kids lose interest fast when the fruit will not pop out easily. However, as we had hoped when we ordered it, it has really helped our kids to take more of an active interest in helping to prepare meals because they get to experiment with what foods (fruits/veggies) will work with it. So for the price, it was worth seeing our kids become more interested in different foods and helping to prepare meals.

Cheaply made and difficult to clean
Honestly I though this was a great idea and I couldn't wait to try it out. It does work but it was disappointing. It is cheaply made plastic so I don't foresee it lasting very long. The air bulb doesn't hold enough air or pressure to push anything out (maybe dry bread but a wet melon slice was stuck tight). We ended up taking the bulb off and sticking a skewer through the hold to get them out.Invest is some really nice metal cookie cutters and it will work just as well for you and you'll have more shapes to choose from. It's a great idea and I'm glad I tried it but I'll stick to more traditional methods because it didn't save me time and just added to my clean up.

Don't waste your time
The idea is ok. The kids saw the ad and asked me. It took me a while, but finally ordered for them. It broke at the fist use. the plastic is the worse kind. Very fragile.

You get what you pay for
Would not recommend this product primarily because it does not pop @ all...we were thinking we just got a bad or used version but not willing to go through the effort to return & try this product again ~ Oh well, it was fun for our 5 year old daughter for a few minutes and we fully recognize you get what you pay for, so still worth the try...
