Lidtke Technologies L-Tryptophan Complete Capsules, 120 Count

We Love how it does not make me feel sluggish the next morning.

A friend of mine who runs a substance abuse detox center in Sedona told me he only trusts this brand. They have very high standards for quality and purity of product. My friend says he can see a difference in his clients between this brand and others. This product contains complementary supplements that support the processing of L-Tryptophan. It's obvious they've done their homework. Everything they claim - the inclusion of B vitimins, the importance of taking the product with little or no protein, etc. - I've been able to corroborate by researching elsewhere. Check out their website - Lidtke Technologies - it's full of useful information. I've come to trust their claims. I wouldn't say this about the vast majority of supplemental health products or companies.

I've taken another trytophan brand, and it was good enough. But with these, I don't have to take as much. The co-factors seem to help. Tryptophan isn't perfect, but 75% of the time, once I took enough, it solved my decades long sleep problems. I use to wake and not get back to sleep for hours. Now, if I wake, I usually return to sleep. And often, I sleep straight though. Getting from 6-9 hours is like paradise after so long with much less.

Surprisingly (for me, anyway), these "Lidtke Technologies L-Tryptophan Complete Capsules" actually seem to work to improve my sleep. It's also possible that they help a bit with my mood (a hard thing to tell from inside my own head). Two capsules on an empty stomach about an hour before bed seems to be the right dosage for me. These L-tryptophan capsules are more expensive than other brands, but Lidtke seems to have a good reputation, the pills are packaged very nicely in an actual glass bottle, and the L-tryptophan is blended with other supplements to improve its efficacy (at least according to what I can find on the internet). The only negative thing I have with this product is that I can't find any information about how the L-tryptophan is produced, what it's made from (though it's supposed to be non-GMO), it's source country, or even where the product is bottled. Lidtke, itself, seems to be located in Casa Grande, AZ. But, that doesn't mean anything regarding the product source. The best I can find is at the bottom of their home page (http://lidtke.com/) where it says: "At LIDTKE we literally search the world for premium raw materials that even surpass pharmaceutical standards." So, the implication is that their L-tryptophan could come from anywhere (i.e., China -- where most of the world's L-tryptophan is produced). Countering that lack of a specified source, LIDTKE is one of the very few sources of L-tryptophan that I've found who show some kind of "stamp of good housekeeping." They've got a GMP mark on the label (look it up on Wikipedia). So, theoretically, there's at least some kind of approved practices going on. Still, overall, I'm pleased with the product and rate it at a Very Good 4 stars out of 5. I'd also like to add a generic warning about any L-tryptophan supplement: do not take one if you're currently taking, or have recently taken, another serotonin enhancing substance (selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRI) like Prozac, or even certain other supplements). The time those substances stay in the body can be on the order of weeks to months. So don't combine any L-tryptophan supplements with those substances.

This product does give me a better mood, or perhaps better to say that it gives me the ability to desire a better mood. Gives me vivid dreams though - so watch out if you're prone to nightmares or other dreams of the sort. Excellent quality product that helped me clear up some "stinking thinking" that I had gotten in the habit of.

This product is helpful, but unfortunately, it contains Folick acid, which is a synthetic form of folate that is known to be problematic for many people. It blocks your full eight receptors, and makes it more difficult to absorb fully from foods. I wish that they would get on the bandwagon and realize that folic acid is problematic and upgrade their formula and I would be back as a customer. As it stands, I cannot risk my health by continuing to take a supplement with folic acid. People are educated these days and you can’t just put anything in your supplements. People know, and they will choose better.

I was looking for a natural alternative to sleeping medication and researched my options and decided on Tryptophan Complete because it is a natural pathway in my nervous system that maintains and sustaines seratonin levels. I have no trouble falling asleep and get complete rest without being groggy in the morning.

I use it when I need it. A very healing formula. I don't need to use it all the time because the curcumin has had a healing effect so that I produce the right bio-chemicals that make my day go so much smoother. In the beginning I used it every day, but now, whenever I feel I want to and have been stressed. I only need one too. Taking 2 seems like over kill most of the time and I'm 180 lbs too.
