Ah I was taken back to my own childhood! I purchased this for my child for xmas. It was a hit, and they played with it for long periods of time, which I was happy to witness. However, I wish there was a volume adjuster, because once that music gets turned on, it is loud and can be difficult to listen to for those long periods of play. Luckily, yes you can turn off the music while the toy is still on. But otherwise, this was one of my favs to gift to my child. It's sturdy, and endlessly entertaining for no other reason than watching those little penguins go up and down the little stairs on their own and slide down and do it allover again. I did not experience the penguins getting stuck that often.

My wife had this toy in her childhood, three decades ago. This is still exactly the same toy, and our children aged 2 and 4 still enjoyed it much. They probably would enjoy it again, if I were to search the three pieces of the track, and the penguins, and put it together again; the two-year old tended to take it apart. Also the music is for an adult annoying and too loud, although the children like that much, too. The toy is cheap for its play-value. Of course it is plastic, and not expected to be very durable, but although it received some mistreatment from my younger son, I could put it together again, and it would still work; only finding the penguins gets difficult now. So I recommend this toy; the mechanical idea of the stair-climbing is nice, and my children were fascinated by the toy, and fought about it.

I remember these little penguin racers from when I was a child. My son loves dogs and things with wheels, so when I saw this I couldn't resist. The assembly was a little tricky. It's only a few steps, but you have to get the slides lined up correctly to make sure the dogs don't get caught in the middle tunnel. Both my kids (3 and 5) love playing with this, as did my older nephews when they were over for the holidays. The music is a little tedious, but the manufacturers put three settings on the power, so you can play it without the music (awesome). It's great, highly recommend!

It was fun for 3 minutes. Before it even got close to running down a pair of AA batteries, it began clicking and failed to lift the penguins up the lift. We let it go for another 15 seconds with only 1 penguin, but now it clicks more and more and won't lift even 1.Being somehwat handy with cheap toys, I opened it up and it appears to just be a design flaw where the small plastic gears inside the impeller can't hold up to this use, which is sad...the toy is simply under-engineered, even for cheap imported toy standards. I can't imagine many of these last very long.No sense sending it back for another... I'm certain we'll have the same.issue and spend more time shipping back and forth than it's worth. Save your money and don't buy.

It’s ok. The music is very loud and our grandson was saying no no! So we shut the music off, luckily it goes without the music too. The pups don’t roll down the slide so easily, the vibration sometimes makes them go or you need to give them a push.

I love that this toy is still being sold. Bought similar one 12 years ago for 1st grandchild. He loved it. I was so happy to find it again for our younger grandchildren. The four year old is mesmerized and excited by the penguin race. A cute toy. No hands-on experience, but it apparently is much fun visually for the kids! They seem to like the music that plays too. Adults would probably appreciate a volume control - haha! A nice, inexpensive toy. There's not much you can buy for kids today that is under $30.00. Simple assembly. Would definitely buy again for other children.

I bought this toy for my 3 yo and 1yo children and they really loved it at first sight. It is a fun toy and I am sure it will keep them well entertained for a week or may be more. It is easy to set up and play but like others pointed out there are some flaws.Pros:-It is relatively cheap for a toy and this model is a few bucks cheaper than the best selling model. I see no reason paying extra for something which would be exactly the same, so if you wanna buy one of these, buy this one...-It is easy to set up and operate-it can be good fun for younger children. The penguins are a little small but I don't think it is too small to be swallowed, so not a significant risk for toddlers.Cons:-It is loud and the song drives me mad. My kids keep playing it all the time and for the third day in a row this is the first thing I hear as I wake up. it feels like it is brainwashing and too bad there is no way to operate the thing without the sound (unless you open it up and cut the cord or something)-I can not say it is of high quality material. For this price, I can not complain but my gut feeling is that this will not see the end of the month. The tracks are cheap plastic and my kids are too young to take good care. (I caught my 1 yo trying to use the tracks as penguins do :) ) The top panel is nothing but card board so I removed it before it gets bent and torn apart.This is something I remember from my childhood and I see my children like it. For $10-11 (cost of one course meal in a restaurant) if it can manage surviving a reasonable time, I will be happy with my purchase.As a summary: Don't expect too much but buy if you are interested.

Easy to assemble and great fun for our two cats to watch. We happened to have three extra penguins from our old, now nonfunctional slide, so the six penguins are twice the fun. My husband seems to enjoy this even without the cats! Finally, you CAN run this without the annoying music because the first position of the switch is silent.
