Berryman 0996-ARM B-9 Chem Dip Parts Cleaner with Basket and Armlock, 3/4-Gallon Pail

All these years and I thought this stuff was snake oil... never imagined it actually worked like you see on the internet and whatnot...but maybe 15-20 minutes and my pistons were carbon free and super clean...wish I would have purchased years ago..

Great product. No complaints at all

I bought this to use for cleaning 2.5 year old carbs that were sitting with ethanol gas in them. I also bought a gallon of Gunk Parts cleaner to do a comparison with. I was cleaning 4 carbs from a boat engine so was able to compare evenly the two cleaners. First both cleaners extremely smell and will scent your hands if you don't wear gloves. The first test I did was to place the completely disassembled carbs in over night. Both cleaners did a great job cleaning the carbs. My next test on the 2 carbs I had left were to see how well the cleaners did in a shorter period of time. I soaked both disassembled carbs for one hour. In this test I found that the Berryman cleaner did a better job. The Gunk cleaner still cleaned very well but I found that I had to scrape a bit more residue out of the bottom of the bowl. What I found the most pleasing of these two cleaners and what has made my decision to only go with Berryman is the clean up. Using only dish soap and a bucket of water, the Berryman cleaner washed off the parts very well and left no cleaner residue.

The product itself works decently the biggest problem is how the can is handled, packed and shipped.As you can see, mine arrived all dented as other reviewers have also experienced.This is from outright poor packaging of this type of product.I know Amazon requires a certain "speed" to packing boxes as I've toured a facility, but they need to train packers that items like these cannot be loose in the box it is going out in.There was only one short (6 bubble) segment of bubble wrap and two of the bubbles were deflated at opening.Additionally, I heard the box being dropped at my front door while I was in my back room office since the can inside made a racket when it hit the porch. So handling I would have to say was also rough.The box is clearly marked for directional handling with one side "up" and it was that way on my porch, however the can inside was laying on its side within the box when I opened it, so if it originally was packed upright handling tipped it over.Handling the box one can clearly tell it is liquid inside, and being a chemical there should have been at a minimum an exterior label indicating that there is a consumer commodity hazardous waste item contained inside.I have not yet opened it to see if I can get the basket out of the can, but I am going to try and massage the can first to see if any of the multiple dents can be worked out while still sealed.

Haven't used it yet, buy I'm sure it will work well according to the reviews. However the can was badly destroyed, so I had a new paint can and lid and poured it in the new can threw the basket in and now good to go.Shame on amazon for this as it is packaged improperly!I will give the product 5 starts and amazon -5 stars!

have used this stuff for years you put parts in come out like new perfect for small carbs with small ports i have put pistons in this stuff to clean carbon off before a rebuild price and quality are perfect for the job
