This is a really good detector for the price and it was better than the SCORE in my case. The controls were easier to use and give you plenty of adjustments for someone that is a beginner or even advanced beginner. The Score worked OK but mine had a real problem with the pinpoint button. It took extreme force to activate and the design required that you keep it pressed. Unlike the Minelab Xterra or possibly others where the PP feature is activated and stays on until you hit the key a second time. I sent the SCORE back (not from AMZN) and unfortunately, I sent the Simplex back since I thought I would be better served by the SCORE with multiple frequencies. Well if it is not easy to use, multi-frequency does not matter. If I had known this, I would have kept the Ultra. I instead went with another Minelab instead but the Ultra would be a great backup machine well tunes with 15KHz in my case.

This detector seems like a great value for the price. It has many features, can be submerged under water up to 16 feet, and is really accurate.

For the money it has exceeded my expectations, bought the additional 3yr warranty for $36.00, definitely worth the money.

Bought this for my husband and he loves it. However, the box shows there should be headphones inside but you have to pay more for those. Very misleading.

My husband and I are new to this and bought this metal detector to take to the beach. We have taken it to parks and around our neighborhood as well since then. We have some learning to do but that's all in the fun of having a new toy. Figuring out what metals ping what tones, numbers and the depth without digging up everything that sends a sound. It is an exciting experience to dig something up, not knowing what it will be. We did find some coins. Although they were in pretty bad shape it's still a fun hobby with your spouse or partner.
