You need to know IT to get this working, but they're worth the effor.
Like others, the first thing my laptops (I bought 2 for my grand-daughters and their school work) did when I booted them up was run Windows update, which then proceeded to download an update larger than the available space on the hard drive and it got stuck in a reboot loop. A reboot loop of death. As it happens I've been a computer techie for twenty years now so I was easily able to recover them into a bootable version of Windows 10. To do so you need:1 - a micro SD card, at least 64GB, to use as additional storage2 - a bootable USB stick with a Windows 10 installer on it3 - patience.Upon booting the laptop, I immediately pressed the Boot Options key F8 and select the USB stick, which then took me to the Windows 10 installation screens. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO THIS INSTALLATION, FIND SOMEONE WHO DOES!! Do not risk the installation yourself if you aren't confident! I went into the install screens, went to the bottom option of installing Windows, wiped ALL the existing partitions from the hard drive and then installed on the single partition that was created. Win 10 handles the rest for you from there, and it's less than an hour until you have a working laptop. Now that I do have the laptops working, they work very well. First thing you should do is install antivirus software, then run the Windows Updates before installing anything else. The touchscreens work very well, the keyboard switches off when you flip the screen all the way over and Windows goes into Tablet mode. I'm very impressed with that aspect of the laptops. Whilst not speedy, the lag in operation due to lower powered processors is acceptable. I've installed a raft of safety software to protect the users (mostly from themselves!) and all the other software - Office and secure browsers - that they'll need for their school work. The laptop is a good size for little legs, not too weighty although heavier than I was expecting, and the keyboard is of a good size for smaller hands. All in all, and considering I got them in a special deal that knocked £100 off the listed price, I'm pleased with the product I purchased, It's just a shame that an obvious error has been made with the image that gets installed on these laptops in the factory that will effectively make this laptop unuseable for most people who purchase them.
