Sturdy Pi 5 case big enough for a hat.
I purchased this case when my previous case wasn't big enough to support the "hat" I was trying to attach to my Pi. However, even without a hat installed, I prefer this case because it is sturdy metal (my previous case was flimsy plastic) and this case lets you firmly screw your Pi to the case itself (and even lets you screw down its case lid). This makes your Pi and case much sturdier than some other options (which will be especially handy if/when I take my Pi with me on trips). However, since this case is made out of metal it has the potential to at least partially block the Pi's builtin WiFi. This wasn't an issue for me, because I don't use my Pis' WiFi (instead I give my Pis internet via the Pi's Ethernet jack). But since I don't use the WiFi built into my Pis, I also haven't tested how much (if any) this case interferes with those WiFi signals. So I can't tell you how much of a problem this would be for someone that does need the builtin Pi WiFi. Just be aware that WiFi interference is a potential problem of this metal case.

Perfect fit with a Pimoroni NVMe HAT
I recently got a Pimoroni NVMe HAT for my Raspberry Pi 5, and the assembled unit no longer fits into the case I originally got for it. This new metal case has enough room for the HAT with the M.2 drive mounted to the RPi5and has a lot of ventilation holes cut into it to help with cooling. It came with all the screws, washers, brass standoffs and spacers needed to mount the NVMe HAT.Installation was straightforward, with most of the work remounting the NVMe HAT. With the heatsink mounted to the M.2 drive, there is still room to spare between the heatsink and the top of the case. Everything came together quite nicely, and the tolerances were tight with no misalignments. The ports of the RPi5 also lined up perfectly, so cables and USB devices plugged right in with no scraping. There are a couple of things I did not like about this case. There is a minor design flaw in the top piece of the case that slides into the bottom case assembly. The tab that slots into cage is not secured by any screws, so it does rattle because of metal on metal. I did a simple fix by using a piece of electrical tape. It also does not come with a power button extension like some other cases. It just has the hole cut out, and it would have been nice to have a physical button protruding from the case.Overall, this is still a very nice case. It is well-made and well thought out, comes will all the hardware you would need for assembly, and has plenty of ventilation. It provides excellent protection for my RPi5, and looks good too.

Solidly-made metal case for the Pi 5
This is a two-part case for the Raspberry Pi 5, constructed from pressed steel sheet and powder coated in black. It comes with two lengths of brass spacers, brass inserts and small steel screws, with some fiber washers. If you are using the Pi alone, it fits nicely with the included short M2.5 spacers below the board, mating the connectors and the case cutouts pretty accurately. The inserts or the longer spacer can hold the board down. The case is tough (and looks the part). In my case, I had to get my box of inserts out and play, because my Freenove SSD expansion normally lives under the Pi, leaving the GPIO expansion pins free to use on top. That configuration won't work here, since the board is then too high for the connectors and holes in the case to match.I tried removing the press-fit stand-offs for the expansion board and mounting it on top with the provided hardware, but the longer stand-off spacers they provide are not long enough to provide clearance above the USB connectors. I had to hunt down longer M2.5 stand-off spacers separately to make it work, and of course, this configuration is not great if you need to access the GPIO pins.Remember that a steel case makes a pretty good Faraday cage, so expect some degree of attenuation of the Pi's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals at any significant distance. If those constraints don't matter to you, it's a great little case at the price.

Grear PI 5 case!
This item was received for free, however, this review is 100% honest and unbiased. This case it's truly great! It comes with a lot of stuff, mostly spare hardware. Comes with small brass motherboard standoffs to mount the Pi to the case but also tall ones to add a top board or NVMe board. Appreciate that it comes with antistatic washers just in case, I use them between the case and the Pi. I didn't use the NVMe brass standoffs since, well, no NVMe board but hey, I appreciate them.If has a lot of clearance space to add/mount anything you might want. No issue with the cooler, of course, plenty of space there. Fitment for the USB ports and HMI/USB-C ports, they have a perfect fit. Instructions are simple, yet I could see how someone might get confused. In general, you will need:• 4 brass standoffs.• 4 brass inserts.• 4 antistatic washers (optional) that go in between the Pi and the screw on the top side, if you put them on the bottom side, it will throw the case alignment for the ports off.• 8 screws (4 to mount the pi to the case and 4 for the cover plate).Overall great cheap case, I recommend grabbing one

I think it is a big improvement over the standard case
Pros:o Sturdy metalo Accurate machining for all connectors, power button, and ribbon cableo Includes all needed standoffs and screwso Works with my active coolero Room for an SSD hatCons:o The usual bad instructionsWhen I bought my Raspberry Pi 5, I ordered the stock case, and man was I disappointed. No screws to attach the board to the case, and the case wouldn't even snap closed. Cheap piece of plastic junk. This sturdy metal case does everything a case is supposed to do and I am completely happy with it. A reasonable price, and I feel like my Pi is now in a much safer environment when it is knocking around on my desk.--------I'm honored to be included in the Amazon Vine program, and I work really hard to make these reviews and videos helpful.
