Espressotoria Caprista Pod Machine - Black

Makes a great expresso cup. this little machine does a great job of also making the expresso froth that is commonly made when made at your favorite coffee shop. My only criticism, the coffee pods are very specific. Other pods won't work on this machine. Would I buy this again I would say yes.

Leaks from the back. most the hot water goes into the container for catching the discarded pods and very little into the cup. Read instructions carefully and followed them. Tried it about a dozen times. Wasted about 10 pods (not sure if I can return them). Saw a u-tube video of exactly the problem I was having, but no solution was offered. It looks beautiful, and the coffee tastes great, but I'm done with it.

I love the taste of the coffee and the ease of use. However, I have had 3 and each have died after 1 year, almost exactly at the one year mark.

I had avoided all of the pod machines until I stayed in a hotel in Portland that had this Espressortoria Caprista in my room. It made the best coffee I'd ever had in a hotel coffee maker and I immediately purchased it upon returning home. The amount of water in your shot is programmable. The default was a tiny shot so I increased the water to approximately what the hotel was expressing and I've been very happy with the results. I did not add the milk frother as I already had a manual one. It has not replaced my AeroPress for my daily morning coffee, but it's perfect for the quick shot or homemade affogato. The only reason I gave four instead of five stars is that the pods are, at this time, strictly proprietary Espressotoria brand that come in at about 80 cents a shot. It takes two of them to make anything close to a full cup of coffee. I've tried several of their flavors and been happy with most of them. The Italian is a little bitter. I'd love if there was a reusable pod that I could fill with my own coffee choices, but it seems that they've decided on the "printer business model" of cheap machine, expensive cartridges. I think it looks great on the counter and takes up very little space. Set up is easy and coffee can be had within about 5 mins of unpacking it. They say that the coffee can be extracted from the pods for composting, but I've found it very difficult to remove the cover to dump out the coffee, so mostly they end up in the garbage. Overall, I'm very happy with it and I'm hoping if more people invest in this brand that more specialized coffees will begin to produce their pods.

Cannot use any other Nespresso Origianl Brand like Starbucks or Peets, you have to use Espressotoria brand otherwise it would slip through the capsule holder.

The size of this coffee machine makes it a winner for our boat. It is a good machine. It does require 2 pods to get a full cup. Pods are available only on amazon or some Walmarts. With the pods, the gold foil ones can be light to medium or medium to dark roast so be careful when purchasing

I first used this machine in a little boutique hotel in Portland. I got so nostalgic I bought one. It is easy to use and clean. Doesn't take much space on the counter either. The bottom front comes off to fit a larger cup. I use one pod twice to get an Americano.

I was very excited to try this, but it really sucks. The water never heated up properly so it doesn't work. It should also be noted that it only takes a proprietary pod and it doesn't offer a reusable one like k cups. This means that you are limited to the very small line of coffee that they offer instead of the dozens of types of k cups on the market.
