At first I loved this until I hated it.. Worked great for about 3 weeks now there's almost zero flow.. ive had to clean it out multiple times per week just to have any flow at all only for it to stop again the following day.. pump is trash weak after only 3 weeks of use.. missed the return window by a week so im super upset this is essentially trash at this point

Am I the problem?
Unfortunately this filter has given me nothing but problems. Water flow keeps going out and the clip that hangs on to the aquarium busted not long after I got it, I've had to put a rubber band around the clip to hold it in place. Doing maintenance is a disaster every time, and the mesh piece that connects the top of the filter to the main chamber doesn't line up straight or have any way to secure so it's basically not doing anything. I'll be going to a HOB fuval to try instead. 😕

Yes it filters.
Yes it filters. But maintenance on this filter is a nightmare. The plastic parts that hold it to the tank fall off when you remove it to clean it. Forget ever getting replacement filter pads. I wrote the company and received this.Thank you for your message. We understand your concern. However, we do not sell accessories. Would you please share with us the following two messages? We will check if the factory still has spares.1. The accessory pictures that you required. Please highlight this part in pictures.2. Your Amazon order number if you have one.Once we confirm, we will offer a solution for you.Thank you,So no replacement pads!!!!

Be aware of climate/house/humidity levels
If you have an unusually dry house, you need to stay on top of water changes and maintenance of this particular branded filter. For some reason the first week of use had this product losing water retention within the actual filter chamber. After some trial and error, everything seems to be working fine.

Issues with intake
I finally got a chance to set this up in my 5g and, initially, it worked great. For about 24hrs. And then it wouldn't pull water into the intake. So I unplugged it, refilled the reservoir in the filter, and plugged it back in. Worked for about an hour and then the same thing happened again. I am getting a replacement of this to see if this filter was just defective, will update when I get the new one set up.EDIT: so I got a replacement for the smaller 10g filter, by the time that arrived the first one was working fine, I guess there was air in it somewhere causing issues, decided to keep the second as a back up.However, I then went ahead and ordered an 8w 40-60g for my 29g tank. It ran great for the first two days and then quit working altogether. It won't turn back on, even though I've taken it apart, turned it on/off. I have a different filter coming in today that I meant to put on a different tank but I'll be using it for my 29g and I won't be trying to reorder this particular hygger filter. Also, these are not made for rimmed tanks, which I did not see in the description anywhere, but maybe I missed it. So buyer beware, this will either work great or not at all.

Only 1 downside
The filter itself is pretty good, quiet, slim, no leaks and sleek looking. Major fault is the the air bubbles. No matter how you fill it it will purge air non stop. Wouldn’t be a problem if it was just 1 day but even up to 2 weeks later it has been consistent pushing out air. It does slow down after the first day but no matter what you do it seems to always find air, I’ve been trying but nothing helps. Will eventually start looking for alternatives as I want to clean it out weekly and don’t want to deal with nonstop micro bubbles all over my tankUpdate…. It’s pretty much unbearable. Literally nonstop. Customer support is not helpful either

Much better!
This filter pump is very quiet and moves a lot of water. I like that the filter media is not proprietary, like some other popular brands; you can buy it virtually anywhere if you ever need to replace it.I currently have it on a 10-gallon aquarium. I figure that it is easier to dial back the flow rate than to replace the pump if more is needed. All in all, I feel confident that this is a high-quality unit and is worthy of your consideration.
