Good option for the casual light/laser enthusiast.
What I like about it. • Construction, like my M7L-G, appears to be really good. The aluminum body and switches feel like quality. • Perfect formfactor for my 12 inch 300BLK. • Bright laser with a few operation modes. • Alan screws to adjust windage and elevation are 2mm in size and also click. The “click” should greatly help it keep its zero. Also adds to the quality feel. • The charging method - The magnetically attached cable is more durable than a USB port that might get dirty or damaged. • The price is…. affordable,…for a light/laser combo. What I don’t like about it. • I don’t like the fact it’s not American made. I really wish a company like Surefire or Crimson Trace would have made something like this in a similar form factor. It would cost more, but I would pay it. If they made it, you know it would also be serviceable too. • Much like my M7L-G, the battery doesn’t appear to be user replaceable. Unlike the M7L-G, I believe this one might contain a battery you could replace, assuming you can open it. There are couple of 1mm pin holes on the back of the flashlight. If you had the correct pin spanner, you might be able to open it. So far I haven’t been able to find anything compatible. • The charging cable. Again, magnetic attached is the way to go. I don’t like the fact it’s proprietary and I haven’t seen spare cables for sale. Miscellaneous notes. • I don’t have a method for measuring the light output or a high end light to compare it too, so I can’t verify the 3000 lumen claim. I can tell you the beam angle seems to exceed 50 degrees and is NOT adjustable. It’s a very wide flood with a more concentrated beam in the middle. This equates to a short throw distance relative to it’s power output. • The light seems to be good for about 75 feet. Beyond that, it’s starts to degrade. After about 150 feet, it’s pretty well nonexistent. For what it is, this is still very acceptable, especially for the casual (non-duty) user. • It gets hot…. Don’t put it in your pocket with the light on. You’ll have a bad day. On that note, if you’re considering the M8L-G over this model, I wouldn’t. I don’t believe the laser diode will last very long due to its placement inside the flashlight chamber, exposed to the heat source. If you look at the M8L-G, you’ll see the diode is contained in the flashlight housing and much closer to the heat source vs. the M6LP-G. However, if you're only turning the flashlight on for a few seconds at a time, it won't matter. One last con, and it’s the most serious one. Due to shape and location of the on/off buttons, the laser/light can be accidentally turned on while in a rifle bag. If the light happens to turn on inside the bag, it could get hot enough to start a fire. All of Votatu’s lasers and especially their flashlights need a hard switch to disable the battery for storage and travel. The only option I have at this point is to remove it from the rifle.

Bad @$$!! Get you some!!
These are great. I’ve purchased 4 of these so far. The light is amazing and so bright. The laser reach is so far and well seen. Magnetic rechargeable light weight and mounts to just about any mid to large weapon. Easily adjustable and the size is just right. Would recommend!

Impressive for price point.
I typically only take product descriptions at face value when they are at this price point. A light/laser combo, especially one claiming to be 3k lumens for under $100 I'm not really expecting much. However, this thing came packaged very well, has everything you need to mount pic. Rail or M-LOK, mine is mounted the later, detailed instructions for mounting and i love it has magnetic charging cord. The laser can be put in 3 differnt modes and is surprisingly bright on its own. It's big enough MOA that you can see it easily a couple hundred yards away at night. The light itself is BRIGHT. It's impressive for sure and I would easily believe it has the output it claims to. It does get quite warm after a couple minutes of being at %100, but not more than expected. The build quality is good, it's in an all aluminum shell, buttons are crisp and responsive and easy to locate by feel. Overall I am impressed and for this price point I don't see why you would pay any more for a lot of products that aren't the same quality as this.

Decent but heavy.
It adds a lot of mass to the end of your rifle. It makes the 16binch ar not as quick. Keeping it due to the light being so powerful. Just going to use it as a flashlight.
