Classic and Timeless
General Forward About My Timex Opinions: Let me begin by saying that I'm somewhat infatuated with Timex, yet a realist that's hopefully not biased. I scolded Timex, through their customer service, for not putting out products with better quality control, as read in various Amazon reviews, and falling behind in their reputation as a well built watch as I remember from my early childhood; I'm now 51 years old. As for my experience, though, I've had GREAT luck with the current Timex watches in my collection. I give 2 thumbs up to their current design team. Specific Product Review: I'm somewhat driven to collect each and every watch in their Weekender 40mm, Weekender Chrono, and Fairfield lines. I admire the retro, minimalist flair that Timex has been pushing. It's a great watch for the price, too. The Timex Indiglo is fantastic. This Weekender and my Weekender Fairfield both have a slight shadow at the bottom when the Indiglo is engaged. That's not a problem to me as I've come to realize it's not a defect. As for the ticking sound... I love it!!! It tells me that it's a watch. It's louder than my other Weekender Fairfield but slightly quieter than the Weekender 38mm. The 40mm face speaks class, simple and elegant. The Weekender 40mm is just the right size. I stay away from the 38mm Weekender since it's too small and feminine on my wrist. The leather band seems at first too thin but it's actually VERY nice and attractive. If the band ever wears out, I'll just put on a NATO.... notice photos. As to accuracy, this Timex seems to be (+/-) 1-2 seconds off per week. I like quartz movements for their accuracy. I only ask for Timex to bring back an American made watch that's constructed to be passed down to my children; I'll gladly pay extra for Timex to get back up to Seiko or Citizen reputation. I'd love to see all stainless steel and Sapphire Crystal glass. I think Timex has a great watch for the price. I'm behind these watches 100%. Go Timex!!!!!

Fits well for small wrists
I got this for my partner for her birthday. She has relatively small wrists, so we were unsure if the unisex would fit, but it does fit quite well. The watch face looks nice and the leather looks and feels of good quality. My partner likes that it has indiglow on the watch face as well. While it hasn't been long enough for the watch to get much abuse, the glass seems quality enough that it wouldn't scratch very easily. Overall the watch seems to keep time well, and doesn't try to be more than it is, which is appreciated. The band attachment under the watch is also quite a nice way to do it. Overall this watch looks and works well, and could work well both in an EDC setting, or in more formal settings.

Fantastic watch let down by a cheap and nasty band
I'm a huge fan of Timex watches. I don't know of another brand that offers this degree of simple, iconic style at anywhere near this price point. These are watches for people who have good taste but don't want to spend hundreds on a timepiece, and they do their job perfectly. I often receive compliments from people who assume my watches cost much more than they did. The Weekender is beautiful; a timeless classic that makes for a perfect dress watch alongside the more casual and rugged Timex Expedition. Like the Expedition this looks like it should cost much more than the ~$30 I paid, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to hit the buy button. That said, the Weekender has one massive, glaring flaw: the band is unforgivably ugly and cheap looking. At just 1mm thick it looks like a hospital patient wristband, plasticky and flimsy, and it was only when I looked at the reverse that I realised it's actually genuine leather. On removing the watch from the box the band was already creased where the buckle was strapped, and it looks like it wouldn't take much to tear it in half. Fortunately I happened to have a good quality 2mm thick vintage band sitting on an old Sekonda in a drawer, and once that was on (the band is attached by a simple spring mechanism) it looked fantastic. So yeah, buy this watch, but allow a few extra dollars for an attractive band to pair it with. The stock band is an eyesore, and shouldn't be seen on any discerning wrist.

An excellent value.
I absolutely love this watch. I had my eyes on the original Weekenders with the 38mm case and when I finally got to try one on it looked a little too small on my wrist. I've found that watches below 40mm seem too small-looking for me in general. Two millimeters may not sound like much but when it comes to watch cases it can make a difference. Sure enough, when this one arrived I tried it on immediately and was thrilled to see that it was much more appropriately sized. I'd planned on changing the strap from the start but when I tried it on, the leather felt soft and comfortable even if it was a little on the thin side. That said, I think the thin leather actually suits this watch and even though I've purchased several additional straps, I plan on using the original leather one as well. Finally, on to what seems to be the most common complaint. It seems the ticking noise that comes from this watch is driving some people mad. The ticking is audible when things are quiet but it's not earth-shattering. I think the issue is that for those that have a heard time tuning out noise, it can be heard to "unhear" the watch once you've heard it. This really shouldn't stop you from buying it though. Put it in a drawer at night if it's that bothersome. The watch is so stylish and so well-priced, buying it (at least for me) was a no-brainer.

Great watch!
This is the 2nd Timex indiglo water resistant to 30 meters white face. My first one lasted at least 5 years. I’d still be wearing it, but I put it in my backpack and somehow it fell out. Genuine leather band. Keeps perfect time. Good looking. To keep it simple, I prefer not having the date display. I paid maybe $42. You can’t beat this for the price, durability and good looks. The band will give out at some point after 1-2 years but I’ll just replace it. “Takes a licking and keeps on ticking.” (John Cameron Swayze lol that dates me.)

Very Nice Watch
I am changing my review. I had taken it to a bad jeweler. The battery was changed correctly and not it works beautifully. Glad because it's a really nice watch.

Great Style for a Great Price
This watch is fun and delivers style with function. I was looking for a classic no frills analog watch at a good price and the Timex Weekender delivers. I purchased this watch along with another, slightly smaller, Weekender style in a different color. I love the slightly larger face on this watch, it's a nice change of pace from the other Timex I purchased. The watch looks great, it's a simple, classic style. I read several negative comments in other reviews about the quality of the band, but for me it's fine. I mean it's not a band that's going to last 5 years, but for the price of the watch and the multitude of low cost replacement bands available, it's more than adequate. The other issue mentioned frequently about this, as well as all Timex watches, is the sound level of the ticking. If you hold it close to your ear you can definitely hear it, but I don't hear it while I'm wearing it and I don't hear it a night, even though I keep it in a tray on my dresser. If I had it on my nightstand next to my bed I suppose I might hear it, but from across my bedroom I don't hear a thing. For a low price this watch delivers great style and keeps great time. It's exactly what I was hoping for when I purchased it.

Could be better
I love the simplicity of the watch and looks. A lot of people in the reviews say it’s bulky but fits great even with a small wrist. What i dislike about the watch is how the second hand is off and sit in the middle of the ticks. I understand the leather will age but after wearing it for almost an hour it already looks like a wrinkled old man. Tried my best to take photos of the issues and thank you for reading my review.
