NASCAR Heat 3 - PlayStation 4

After reading all the reviews on this game I was a little apprehensive about getting it so I would have something to do while recovering from surgery. I came to the conclusion that those who gave low reviews of the game are hardcore NASCAR gaming fans who are expecting the next best thing to real life like the sound of the car which I didn't think was bad or being able to make adjustments to the car and how it handles. To me that is a bit technical, I just want to get in and go and not worry about car setup. All in all I enjoyed the game and am just about through with my first full season. Everyone has their own take on what they want from a game and the above was mine.

Really liked the game. I liked how you can work your way up and build your own team. Although they could put more detail in how and what you can do to build your team. I really liked the dirt series on there as I like how you slide around and it teaches you car control......I think they should add an actual dirt series like for example world of outlaws, even though it’s not nascar sanctioned it would still be fun..... So next I think they should add an actual realistic dirt racing series(Not made up like it is in this game....

Since Papyrus’ effort many years ago, I have been looking for a racing sim that truly feels like a racing sim should. NH3 is a pretty good effort. The racing feels pretty realistic, although not quite perfect. I like the fact that you can do a variety of series from dirt all the way to cup on variety of tracks. The AI is pretty good and competitive. There is a bit of a learning curve though, even using my Logitech wheel, which works well for the game. I think there needs to be some tutorials and simpler training challenges to help you improve as a driver for all of the series, including the dirt.Graphically, the game is ok, but I do feel that the graphics could be better. I would like for more realism in the graphics than what the game currently has. I did notice a couple glitches such as cars disappearing when they crash and then reappearing.I like the career mode, but the game lacks some depth in that respect. I would like to see a more interactive crew chief that can make recommendations on adjustments instead of me trying to figure that out. Also, the game needs more flash like what a race on TV has, where is the introductions like on other sports games, where are the race announcers. It makes it feel a bit plain. NH3 really needs some better presentation. I want to feel like I am in a racing series.Sound is ok, engines sound good, crew chief talking during race is a bit hard to understand. Could be a bit improved overall though. Where are the announcers telling what is going on during the races, who is leader, who is getting passed, calling out the caution and who is involved, what my and other drivers are doing during the race??? I personally don’t have time to notice during the race my times and positions and it would be nice to know what is going on during the race around me. Announcers would be beneficial in this regard.I do like that the makers of the game take suggestions and work to improve the game. Unfortunately, that is usually the next iteration of the game, which NH4 is already out and I haven’t even completed this one.One thing I want to continue to see is more realism in the simulation and more realistic crashes, which some past race games are poor at. The AI opponents need to be more realistic and like their real life counterparts.More tracks, how about the ability to race some classic tracks or other tracks that are not part of the regular season series of races. Or the ability to race classic races against some of the legends of racing, such as Dale Sr, Petty and others.The series shows some promise and each game has steadily made some improvements. This one has its moments, but with some more depth and better presentation as well improving the simulation and crash part and this game would be near perfect.4 stars

Great game. Fun to play.

With today's innovations theses graphics are just unacceptable. I played it for about 20 minutes and wished i had not spent the money... The sound track was pretty good. Peace!

I had my issues with previous NASCAR games from 704, but holy crap have they finally nailed it with this one! It's everything from their old games - fixed - and a lot more. Dirt racing is a blast! I'm just getting into career mode but loving that I can be a driver or an owner. Graphics & sound all improved. Awesome job 704!

Takes for ever to load races when they do its the computer against you no team mates out there definitely needs a lot of inprovement

I like how they have the upgrade your racing team. Having faces and being able to upgrade just one of the 3 attributes is great. Picking your color scheme and having many choices is nice. Only dislike really is when creating a driver not much customization.
