Keyless Entry Remote Control Key Fob Replacement Fits for GMC Sierra 1500 250...

Arrived today. I programmed it myself—was a bit nervous, but it worked perfectly! I used the 30-minute programming method (basically 3 minutes of actual steps and 27 minutes of waiting for the dash to allow the next phase). This method is for when you have either NO smart key or only ONE smart key. What I learned is that if you already have TWO programmed keys, you can use the much faster method instead. But if you don’t, then the 30-minute method is the way to go. Very satisfied! ----------------I'm posting here the method I used. --------------------- REMEMBER THAT BEFORE YOU EXIT THE PROGRAMMING PROCESS, YOU’LL NEED TO REPROGRAM YOUR OLD KEY FOB AS WELL—THIS METHOD ERASES ALL PREVIOUSLY STORED KEYS AND PROGRAMS NEW ONES ONLY. If there are no currently recognized transmitters available, follow this procedure to program up to eight transmitters. This feature is not available in Canada. This procedure will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. The vehicle must be off and all transmitters to be programmed must be with you. 1. Remove the vehicle key from the transmitter. 2. Insert the vehicle key into the key lock cylinder on the driver door handle; then turn the key counterclockwise, to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) displays REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT 3. Wait for 10 minutes until the DIC displays PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN, then press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC display will again show REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT. 4. Repeat Step 3 two additional times. After the third time all previously known transmitters will no longer work with the vehicle. Remaining transmitters can be relearned during the next steps. The DIC display should now show READY FOR REMOTE # 1. 5. Place the new transmitter in the transmitter pocket/insert. Open the center console storage area and the storage tray. The transmitter pocket/insert is in front of the storage area next to the center console storage area between the driver and front passenger seats. 6. Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. When the transmitter is learned, the DIC display will show that it is ready to program the next transmitter. 7. Remove the transmitter from the transmitter pocket/insert and press unlock or lock on the transmitter. To program additional transmitters, repeat Steps 5–7. When all additional transmitters are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode. 8. Return the key back into the transmitter.

Worked great on my 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4. I was able to self program via help from all the YouTube videos available. 30 minute process but super easy to accomplish

Works like the factory key fob for a fraction of the cost! Warning: The only thing is, I had to have a locksmith link the fob to my truck, I struggled doing it myself with the truck training features as I only had one key fob.

Works exactly as described 2021 Silverado RST Z71 - push button start - my remote pocket was in the storage console under the jump seat. The directions are pretty simple - take manual key, put into drivers side door lock. Turn counter clock wise 5 times within 10 seconds. Dash should say "Press Engine Start Button to learn", press start button, then next message "Remote Learn Pending, Please wait" - you'll have to wait about 9-10 minutes - repeat two more times - so about 30 minutes to prep the truck to actually program the fob. After the 3rd time, it'll say "Ready for Remote 1" put a fob into the fob pocket then push the "Start" button - pretty fast. It'll say Ready for Remote 2 - repeat ..up to 8 remotes can be programmed. After you're done with all remotes. Press and hold down the "Start" button about 11-12 seconds until the programming display clears. Then on each remote push lock and unlock buttons and you're set.

This key fob really works great. The original key fob stopped working after four years.

So much cheaper than buying from a dealership. Easy to set up even for someone over 60. The smart way to go when replacing fobs.
