Update VCM Muzzler Harness Disable Kit Replacement Compatible with Hon.da 3.5L V6 Engine with VCM

I put this in my 2011 Honda Accord 2D V6. It was a quick and easy install, about 5 minutes.I set the dip switch based on other review recommendations (82 ohms), and it has prevented the motor from switching to Eco mode as desired.It's been in place for over a month. I haven't seen a notable increase in performance, but I have noticed a 1-2mpg reduction.Item does exactly what it is supposed to. I confirmed this change with my Honda mechanic, and he acknowledged it was a good option.

The ECO mode light stopped showing on the dashboard with the initial 82 Ohms configuration at 80F. So far so good after a week of usage. I expected going to the next Ohms level sometime in May when average temps would be 90F and then again by end of June when temps will be over 100F for the Summer. I hope it will work then. I had to cover the wire ends with self bonding aislant tape to get added protection vs heat and dust. I am thinking on making my own dial muzzle which will be easier to configure than this piano style switchboard. No complaints, very good for the price. Regards to you all from the Gulf of Texas.

As another review stated, the resistor is on the red wire and should be on the black. Great concept and I wish it was built correctly and worked but unfortunately it doesn't. Theres no way all the other reviews are written by actual people saying it worked because it would be impossible for it to.

Easy to install, though it did not come with instructions. Just look up a video online, you simply set the resistance that you want, install the cover on the resistor box, unplug your coolant temperature sensor, plug that connector into one end of this device and plug the other end of this device into your sensor. It took less than 5 minutes on my Odyssey.I saw a couple other reviews say this doesn't work because it's wired wrong. Either those reviewers just happened to get a defective one or something, because it worked perfectly for me. Took it on a 2 hour trip right after installation and the ECO light in my van did not come on at all, and the van ran perfectly. For under $20, the ease of installation and piece of mind to know that it will prevent the VCM system from damaging my engine makes this a no-brainer. That it comes with extra resistors in case you need to replace one is a bonus.

Worked like a charm. Fast delivery, easy installation. However, there were no instructions included. I had to go to the order detail, where they mentioned having to select the resistance starting from 82 ohms. Turned the switch to ON for the 82 ohms, and the ECO mode was finally disabled. I wish I had this before problems started. Include instructions, please.

I installed this two days ago in my 2014 Honda Odyssey at a 86 ohm setting. Immediately I noticed more power and increased fuel efficiency. I ran it for two days and then removed to put some atv gasket seal around it so water can’t get in. I just got to the airport and I got 31 MPG on my drive here, next weekend I’ll be making a 300 mile trip and can’t wait to see the difference. So far it’s amazing! Even if it only lasts a year at $19 I’ll buy another.

Just installed on my 2012 Honda Pilot Exl 4x4 and it does exactly what it says. It does the same thing as the $80 vcm muzzler without the hassle of installing different resistors as this one has them all already installed on switches. There's a few negative reviews with one being a supposed electrical engineer saying it's impossible for it to work the way it's set up he's definitely wrong. Maybe he got a bad one or the one that wasnt updated or something because mine works perfectly.This muzzler makes it so the ECO light doesn't come on and works great. The only noticeable thing it does is on the temperature gauge it's just a tad bit lower than normal (to keep the vcm from activating). Fits great and matches the 3 prong plug perfectly. For the price you can't beat it.

Having the DIP switches makes it much easier when the temp changes, couple bucks more but worth it
