Evaporative coolers work by drawing air through a damp filter pad. Cooling is achieved from evaporation which is affected both by how low the ambient humidity is, and how much air is drawn through the filter. In addition to the air intake on the back of this unit which does have a cooling pad, this "cooler" also has air intakes on either side of the unit that don't have cooling pads. The upshot is, uncooled air from the two side vents is mixed in with the small amount of cool air generated in the single rear vent pad, making the unit pretty much ineffective for use as anything other than an overpriced fan.

I got this portable air conditioner for my living room, and I’m honestly impressed. It’s super easy to use, no need to install anything in a window. I just filled up the 3gallon water tank, turned it on, and it started cooling the room fast. I love that it has 6 speeds and 3 modes, so I can switch it up depending on how hot it is. The remote is a lifesaver, especially when I’m across the room with the kids or busy cooking. It’s not too loud, and the air feels fresh thanks to the swamp cooler effect. Perfect for keeping us cool without the hassle.

It does not cool as stated. It has 6 small containers you add water to which turns into gel. You freeze these and add water and this is how it cools. You can add ice cubes to the top for additional cooling but for a garage or larger room it did not work as described. Very disappointed so it was returned.

Doesn't work that well. Literally useless in a 200 sq. ft room

Worked just fine with no problems until about 2 weeks after return window closed. Now it is leaking. There is a slot on the reservoir where the water coming off the pads goes through and it can't keep up with the water coming through the pads. Pooling and leaking with no apparent way to stop it. Reservoir itself is not leaking. So very frustrated.

This is a life saver in the Summer! It gets so hot upstairs and regular fans only do so much. This cools down upstairs fairly quickly. I love that it has 6 different fan modes and the cooking feature. It has a large enough tank to add plenty of water. It comes with crystal ice blocks to really cool down the air. You can add them to the big tank or the tank up top. The wheels are very convenient and it’s extremely sturdy. It also has a remote and a timer which is perfect for nighttime.
