Pokkén Tournament DX - Nintendo Switch [Digital Code]

I'm a competitive player for Pokken Tournament DX, and have been since the launch of the original on the Wii U (I bought this digital copy for a friend). It's easily my favorite fighting game, even among other titles like Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, Super Smash Bros., and Tekken.Pokken is designed around the philosophy "easy to learn, hard to master", with execution being simple compared to many fighting games (no motion inputs, press a direction and a button for a move) and consistent rules for certain inputs (i.e. Up + Y is always an anti-air attack), while crafting each individual pokemon's movesets to be completely unique within those rules, granting each of them their own options and playstyles while remaining within the basic rules for newer players.The main area this game shines in is the multiplayer, as the singleplayer modes are admittedly lackluster. Local multiplayer works great, with two options being a split screen (good for TV mode) or a single screen with player 2's movement controls mirrored (good for handheld/tabletop mode), or options for wireless play between two Switch consoles or even LAN play with a Switch LAN adapter (Highly recommended if you can do it). Additionally, there are always players online and I've never waited a full minute for a match as long as my internet's been working, so you can always be certain to find a match at any time of the day.Finally, and while this isn't a part of the purchase I think it's important to mention, the online community for this game is fantastic. It's incredibly welcoming and open, and everyone in it is like a big family that's always bringing in new members. Everyone is willing to help new players, be it giving them advice or playing matches with them, and we all get along super well. So if you're looking for a new gaming community, this could be the one.

I’ve always wanted this game & I’m glad I got it here during Cyber Monday. I’ve never checked prior if it had a lower price here, but of all the times I’ve looked, it’s the cheapest I’ve seen it. Although it’s limited to certain Pokémon characters, if you’re a fan of Smash Bros. & games like that, it’s a fun game to play. The graphics are amazing & I can’t get enough of this game. I highly recommend it! It was so convenient too that I was able to get a digital copy of it making it easier to carry around lol

My nephew loves the game. He's a big Pokemon fan, so it was a good choice. I'm not a bad gamer and have played my fair share of video games, but he still crushes me. Definitely worth the purchase.

Got the game but just took longer than expected.

I bought this for my grandson who was getting a Nintendo switch from Santa this year. I mistakenly ordered the digital version of the game. . I can't rate it because I don't know where it is. I have not received any communication on how to activate the game and Santa has not brought the switch game yet. I need to return it but don't know how to do it.

It's... well, kinda okay. Game is kind of a letdown, honestly. No real story. A lot of repeating. No depth. Game mechanics can be a little odd, but still somewhat fun. This just isn't as good as you'd imagine it to be.
