I was extremely disappointed when I bought a competitor product and discovered that the lights would only work when connected to the internet and the product was sending data to China. Also sad because I thought the lights were great. Clean white and brilliant colors. Mycroft recommended LIFX, so I took a gamble and bought a couple to try out. LIFX white makes the competitor's white look dirty... Brightness range exceeds anything else I have seen and the colors are stunning. While I had various issues with connectivity and the like, the new owner (FEIT) has essentially fixed every issue I have been having. My only concern is with folks reporting that a percentage of the bulbs die prematurely, especially given the cost, but so far no issues. However, all of LIFX lighting is so far above anything else I have seen that I'm ok with some failures if they come along.

I have many LIFX lights and have had them for years now, and while I’m an IOS person, I’ve chosen Google Home for my home. Anyway, the hoops and hurdles you need to go through to get these set up on Google vs Apple home is a major pain. If you use Apple for your home, these may work well for you, if you use Google, you’ll need to pack your patience, they’ll either work first time (after waiting for the 15 minute timeout as it tries to connect to Apple Home) or you’ll go through many iterations until you get the sequence just right. I feel that LIFX can and should do better, they have a very good product that’s a major pain to set up.

Been using Lifx for a long long time. They keep getting better as the years go on. They have better colors more vibrant and more options than Hue (my mom has all hue). The newer strips have super smooth gradients and all link together well. Flic company makes internet connected switches that link to an inexpensive hub you can use to control hue and lifx and they work great with this ecosystem. Recommend.

The lights are good, but the strips themselves don't stick well to the wall and the extensions are flimsy enough where if they start on a corner they tend to peel off over time. If I could go back, I would recommend gettting a more expensive brand as the peeling is getting really frustrating

I purchased a few different brands, and they had decent color, but they were not bright enough, then I bought Lifx, Brighter than any other brand I have experienced. The Goovees, I returned, also had the plug in the middle, so power had to be in the middle? What a pain! The Lifx had the power where it belonged, at the start or finish of the strip. The Lifx app is also great. Lifx has been acquired by a another large corporation who promises to continue and even expand the Lifx offerings. Lets hope they bring down the price without sacrificing the quality of this amazing light strip.
