Great mop for wood floors.
This is truly a great mop. I have newly installed wood floors and was looking for the best mop for cleaning. Most people I know with wood floors recommended the “S” brand; but for some reason I didn't get a good feeling about buying that brand unless it was the only choice. So I decided to search for something else that had high ratings and found the Mayshine mop. Arrived in 24 hours and assembly was quite easy. My floors looked immediately cleaner after using the mop. It didn’t just push dirt around. The washable cloths appear of great quality. I have not washed them yet, but they’re not flimsy material so I don’t anticipate issues. As far as wet mopping, I actually sprayed a liberal amount of wood floor cleaner on the floors then mopped as I went along and it worked great. No flipping of the head; I could pull backward and forward; and the swivel range is wonderful. In fact, because the mop absorbed so well, I had to continue to spray periodically to wet the floor...just like typical mopping where you reapply moisture. I think the key is not to overly saturate the mop. I couldn’t imagine trying to dunk a mop of this size in a bucket; actually I couldn’t even imagine a “bucket” that would fit a 15” wide mop head, but maybe it’s me 🤔! Because this is not the kind of mop that you could wring out to remove excess water or liquid, I’m not sure that it would ever work for wet mopping in the way rag mops do. When the manufacturer says wet-mopping capabilities, I’m sure that they mean wet the floors, not dunk the mop. If dunking is what you prefer, this may not be the best wet mop for you!The handle is very sturdy and is adjustable in terms of length. It doesn’t seem like one that would easily break, but maybe that depends on the strength used when operating the mop and the amount of liquid used that may make the mop heavier. My experience was that it moves so easily over the wood floors (wet and dry) that I cannot fathom having to use excessive force with or without wet-mopping to operate the mop.For me, I was impressed by this mop enough after one use that I’m writing only my third review ever on Amazon. And trust me, I order A LOT of items. I also thought I’d share a few things that I found in relation to some of the reviews that cited issues that gave me a little concern before I decided to go ahead and order the mop. Those concerns have been alleviated by my personal use and overall experience.Important Tip: you have to unscrew the plastic ring that is attached to the mop head base, place it at the end of the mop pole, and then screw it back on to the mop head base. The instructions may not be as clear for some, so the fast-reader or the person who races through illustrations might think that you just try to push the pole into the base without first removing the plastic ring. That’s not how it’s assembled. The instructions do not clearly say remove the ring from the mop head base and place at bottom of mop pole then screw back to base, but they should. Took me a few minutes to figure out that in order to follow the instructions that ARE written, you have to remove the ring first. I think the one-star reviewer who said the pole would not stay in place until they put a lot of pressure, may have missed the need to unscrew the ring then re-screw after placing on the pole.Give it a try. It’s impressed me thus far!

ALMOST the best one I found so far
THIS mop would be absolutely PERFECT, i it just had a way to lock the head while wet-mopping so it diesn't flip over. That is the only design flaw in my opinion, and seems like it would be easy to correct at the manufacturere. The reusable pads are a macho mondo compared to the other lat mops. I would guess they hold at least 3X more liquid. The downside, unfortunately, is that abundant capacity to hold that much liquid, hich adds a good bit o weight, and throws off the balance, causing the pad and head to lipflop in use. It's pretty aggrivating. But, hopefully, the manufacturer will see this and consider an improvement.I discovered this style of mop after a fire and had to do the clean=up by myself. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. If I had known what I was getting into, I would have spent the money and hired a professional!. But after weeks and weeks o trial and error, bending and contorting my body to reach places in the house I would probably NEVER have had to get so up-close-and-personal with, I was starting to think I may never be able to walk upright again. But soot is like gremlins...You should never get it wet. And it multiplies. The first thing I did was mix up a bucket of hot, soapy water and proceeded to turn it into a kind of oily slurry I you can't get it cleaned up in a timely manner, it just materializes everywhere. I didn't know about the not getting it wet. Then I tried a different brand of flat mop and it made the job so much easier. However, the thinner pads, while easy to use and efective, you only get one swipe and have to clean it. The buckets they come with are great or normal cleaning, but the water is so bad after one rinse, I was spending so much time on and o the latter, changing water. This monster thick pad doesn't have a custom bucket and still requires frequent rinses, but I keep all 5 pads with me, and get twice as much surface per swipe, and I get that 5 times. This may be too much useless information for most folks. But if you ever have a ire and have to clean it up yourself, You'll appreciate this info!To the makers...PLEASE ind a way to stabilize it so it doesn't lip. You got the jump on everything else!
