Dystopian is back and better than ever
Is this the return of dystopian books? I sure hope so. This book reminded me so much of why I loved the genre. It gave all the feels of Divergent and Hunger Games with a bit of spice to shake things up. And I absolutely adored it. I loved it so much I never wanted it to end, so I kept dragging it out over a week because I wanted to stay in the world as long as possible. Normally I’ll devour a book as fast as possible, but this one made me want to savour it as long as I could. I loved Wren, and I loved Cross even more. I fell in love with Cross Redden harder than any other fictional man I’ve ever read. I can’t even really put my finger on why. But no fictional man has ever made me swoon as much as Cross. And I’m so here for it.The dystopian society of this book is split into two groups of people: the “Mods” with different forms of psychic abilities and the “Primes” without them. Over the years power has shifted between the two groups, and as a result there is an intense hatred between groups. With Primes currently in charge, our FMC Wren has spent her entire life learning to hide who she is from everyone around her. But when she is forced to join Silver Block and enter the military academy, it becomes harder than ever to keep her true self and beliefs hidden from her companions. Especially her hot, irritating, possessive commanding officer. This was a fantastic start to a series I can’t wait to continue. It’s a love letter to the dystopians of 2010, but add a bit of 🌶️🌶️🌶️. The tension in this book is off the rails and I’m actually going to combust waiting for the sequel. Y’all aren’t ready for this.

Entertaining though predictable
I'm not quite sure I understand all the hype behind this book beyond maybe the author has a great PR team. It was good and entertaining. Decently written in the sense that I appreciated that it doesn't constantly repeat information to you like a lot of authors do. I don't need to be told something a million times to fill the pages. This had a continuous forward flow I enjoyed. I did find it very predictable though. All of the revelations I saw coming a mile away except for Lydia's role in the end. That one surprised me. A solid book though.

A-Maz-Ing holy hell, Can I give this more than 5 stars?
I picked this up, literally because Tik Tok made me. It’s absolutely a thing, and today I’m so grateful. This book wasn’t on my TBR, but 100+ other books are and by rights I SHOULD have read them before Silver Elite. BUT then I wouldn’t have lost a day because I COULD NOT STOP READING IT. I wouldn’t have this tightness in my chest because, I still can’t let it go, I wouldn’t have this gnawing desire to re-read it, when I just finished it, even though I know it wouldn’t be the same the 2nd time around. Yet still, I don’t think I can let it go, not today for sure. This was honestly such a great ride. There are so many parts I want to re-live.The honest to God tension between the main characters. Her life, her emotional journey, the vulnerabilities she kept so shielded, the true goodness in her heart. I love Wren’s ability to see both sides of the political equation, she acknowledges the good and bad and recognizes that neither and both side’s ideologies are the “right” path. I think we might delve more into that in future books.I honestly can’t wait to see where and how this storyline evolves. All I know is that I am all in, wherever it leads I will follow.Thank you, Dani Francis for your amazing mind in creating such powerful characters worthy of this unparalleled investment I feel for them. Your storyline is something utterly unique. I loved falling in love with your characters and am so appreciative for you creating them and their world.

I genuinely didn’t want to finish this book!!!! I loved it that much!
Dystopian fantasy with enemies to lovers romance is my kryptonite. I eat it up and want seconds, THIRDS, and I just never want it to end.... obviouslyI’m not entirely sure how to review this except to say: it’s a 5 ⭐read for me in terms of vibes, and probably 3-4⭐when it comes to writing style. The writing gets a bit choppy and abrupt, especially in the last 25%... but honestly? That didn’t stop me from being completely investedWren is easily one of my favorite FMCs I’ve read. Her survival story, her trust issues (relatable LOL), her internal moral battles, and her growth in learning who to let in... I just loved it. I wanted moreI loved the cliffhanger. It answered enough to feel satisfying but still left so much to look forward to in the next book. And the ROMANCE??? This man is down BADDDD for Wren. The groveling???? ohhh lawdy I'm unwell+ the friendships+ the powers+ the war+ the spice 2.5/5 🌶️+ the enemies to lovers TENSION+ the "I hate how much I NEED YOU" heheheit hit all the marks for me.Yes, the writing could have used a bit more polish in places, but this is still going down as a top read of the year. I absolutely adored it and highly recommend !!!

Just what my little dystopian-loving heart needed!
I had the time of my dystopian lover life with this one! My advice is to go into the story for just that- the love of a good story! Don’t overthink it, and don’t analyze it to death and make it a big political dilemma you think you need to decipher. Just ENJOY THE ADVENTURE! The two main characters remind me of Tris and Four’s dynamics in the Divergent series, which I loved immensely. There’s not a huge, drawn out in-depth explanation of the inner workings of this dystopian world, though I honestly didn’t feel like I needed it. Again, go into it for the love of a good story! The side characters were well-developed, and I fell myself getting attached to several of them, even the ones I wanted to hate. They were flawed and multifaceted, so this made them human and relatable. If you’re looking to dive into a dystopian setting with a sci-fi touch… if you love stories about humans with extraordinary powers… if you MELT for a good enemies to lovers… look no further. THIS needs to be your next read!🌎dystopian setting👮♂️elite military academy🌲creepy dark forest🧠heightened mental powers🖤true enemies to lovers🛑 Ps. For the love of amazingly talented entertainment - Stop making everything a political argument!!! 🛑
